It was a busy weekend, with a lot going on. Mr. Grover continues to be miserable with this nerve damage thing he has going on. He went back to the Dr. yesterday and received more meds, and a referral to see a neurologist and have an xray of hip this week. I will schedule this for as soon as an appt. is available. So many of our friends have been calling and cheking up on him, sending cards etc. THANK YOU!! He really appreciates all of the good thoughts.
Over the weekend we babysat the girls while Mommy and Daddy went to see Lady A and Tim McGraw. Here is a picture of Geeps and Hannah having a tea party with the new Madeline Tea Set I had just gotten for Hannah that morning at an antique fair.
I was showing Hannah how to hold onto the lid to the teapot when she was pouring her tea so the lid wouldn't fall off. Claire was listening. She went to get the little plastic tea pot and did just as I was showing Hannah.
Here is a shot of Jake and Gennifer before they left on their date night.
Aren't they cute!!
At the antique fair I also got this bright yellow Cosco step stool for my kitchen so the little ones can pull it up to the counter to help Gamma cook.
Hannah helped me make this yummy guacamole.
Claire enjoyed the berries we gave her for lunch!
Greg watched his Laker's........lose!
See that look on his face. That is the happy one. This nerve thing has been going on for 3 weeks now, and it is really wearing on him. Maybe if the Laker's win tonight, he will smile.....a little.
Last night Pioneer Woman struck again. I made the chicken spaghetti. It was wonderful. Although, I have to say that the next time I make it, I will lighten it up by using the light soup, and light cheese. I didn't have green bell peppers, so I used red, and I don't care much for pimientos so I left them out altogether. Greg and I both liked this a lot. He even ate...which he has not been doing at night!
Cook your whole fryer on stove top. Remove to cool when cooked through. Meanwhile dice peppers, onion, grate cheese. Break pasta into bite sized pieces, and boil in broth after removing chicken. Reserve two cups of broth for later.
Dice one pepper, red or green, one small onion, and grate 2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese. You will also need one large or two cans cream of mushroom soup, 1 lb. pasta, seasoning salt, pepper, and pepper flakes if desired. I used chili powder instead.
When chicken is cool, remove from bone and shred. Mix drained pasta, diced ingredients, cheese, reserving 1/2 cup to put on top of casserole, chicken and reserved 2 cups broth from pot chicken cooked in. Season to taste, mix well. Pour into casserole dish that has been sprayed with Pam. Top with 1/2 cup cheese, and bake at 350 for about 35-45 minutes.
I cooked mine for a full 45 minutes for a crispier top. Let stand for a few minutes before cutting so it will set up.
This was really yummy.
Now I have to go make doctor appointments for Greg, and then decide on paint colors for my house! The painter came yesterday and he is dropping off color samples today and I have to decide!!!!!!
Wish me luck.

Dad looks really manly in the photo with the tea party lol that's cute! Hannah is getting so tall! And Claire too :(
This is my first time visiting your blog - it's wonderful! Total eye candy and inspiring. We've just moved into a new home and I'm working on my garden. You give me hope! I look forward to following along.
Poor Dad! I hope he starts feeling better soon. I feel so bad for him. Maybe you should make him PW's cinammon rolls to make him feel better, and fatten him up!!
I like that picture you took of Jake and I. And the one of Hannah on the yellow chair is cute.
Hi dear friend, Loved seeing your grands-they are soooo adorable!!!! Love the teapot too. So sorry that your hubby is still having pain-I'll be lifting him up. I guess I shouldn't be catching up on blogs right now cause I'm really hungry and I just read about brownies and then read about your chicken spaghetti-yum yum.
Have a great evening.
hugs, Noreen
Poor Greg!! I feel so bad for him. It's no fun to be in pain, and especially for that long.
The food looks delicious, as always!
The pic of Greg at the tea party is so cute, I LOVE it!! That's so funny about how Claire picked up on what you were telling Hannah. Madi does that too without me even realizing it. These kids learn so much, so early!! Love the pic of Claire with the face full of berries!
To answer your question about the granite, I've decided to go check out some of these places that offer granite out of their showrooms. I feel like all of these independent guys charge a lot more for labor, because the slab cost is all the same. For your middle of the road granite, it's around 700 a slab. We'll need two for our kitchen and we are going to demo ourselves. The lowest price I got for really good granite is $3000.00, but from there I've heard 3150, 3750, 3900, and the whopper of all whoppers 7500. The lowest quote was from a shop that has their own showroom, so I'm going to see what I can find by shopping people like that. Plus I'm thinking now that I want to only get like a two inch backsplash of granite and beadboard the rest up to the cabinets and paint it red, to match the beadboard that will be on the island. This granite thing is harder than I thought!!
Man oh Man, I love that yellow chair you picked up at the Antique show.
Life is just no fun when you don't feel well, I sure hope Greg gets better soon. That is when you really know you don't feel well, when you pass up food. Ask him if he remembers me bringing him my food from an airline trip I took from WA to CA many moons ago. I remember thinking it looked really weird & knew that Greg would eat anything. I gave it to him & sure enough he ate it up at Aunt Diane's, I thought he was the coolest!!
Oh & the girls are just going to love those pictures of them with their Pap having a tea party. My dad and I were just talking tonight about how it's the little things in life that make it so darn meaningful, they will just cherish you two!
I just discovered your blog, and I LOVE IT!!! :)

love the first picture of grandpa sipping from the tiny tea cup with this granddaughters, adorable!! hope he feels better soon!
