Garden Grannies

I have been making more garden granny squares. I thought my first one had mistakes, but upon closer inspection, it didn't have missed stitches, it was just that I was crocheting too loosely and it looked misshapen. My next two look much better. Lucy, from Attic 24 was right, they are addicting. I am stitching all the time now! I love it!
 Oh I love making these cute granny squares.  So relaxing, so portable.  Next up........ flowers!
It is so hot here, that we have been spending a lot of time doing this.

 And that always works up a good appetite, but it is too hot to eat outside.
Nothing like Miguels after a nice long swim!
Last night as soon as Mr. G got home, we jumped in the pool and floated for a good 45 minutes.  It was so refreshing.  Even though the sun has heated the pool to 86 degrees!  Then we got ready and went to dinner with our friends Kevin and Maryrose at one of our favorite local places, The Twisted Gourmet.  If you live here in Corona, and have not yet tried this gem of a place, go try it. It is wonderful!!!  After dinner, we went back to our friends house, and sat by the pool until midnight!  The night air was just perfect after such a hot day.  I sat on the first step of the pool with my feet in the water the whole time.  Kevin brought me some pillows, and when the cool water and evening air began to bring us all to near slumber, we bid our farewells and headed home to sleep.  What a great day!!!

I'm feeling extra old and frumpy hearing you say that you and your friends stayed up until MIDNIGHT!!!

Love that little table in your kitchen, I bet the kids love it too!
What are your plans with the Granny Squares, I could think of a million ways to use them!

Cute Granny Squares. What do you do with them? Could they work as a coaster?

I'm craving Miguel's again after seeing the pic of our lunch. :)

The Granny squares are darling! And yes, the heat is a killer. Soo glad we didn't have this last week-end for our move. Your day does sound great. There is nothing like sitting outside after a HOT day and enjoying the cooler night air and good friends. Have a wonderful Sunday...HUGS

I love the granny squares - what are you planning to do with them? I really could use some "hand work" that I can take with me..for when I have time on my hands (no pun intended..well, sorta!) Right now, I seem to resort to texting..and that is just pathetic!

Keep cool!

Yipeeeeee... You are off and running. They are looking great. Watch out, this whole thing is very very addictive. Especially, when you get going over at Luc and Lizzie's blogs.... I started last year with Luc and it's been all over since then for me.

Herrschners is an online yarn shop that's been around for ever. Most people just order from their online shop, so it was a treat to visit their factory outlet. They have great sales weekly too. Not, overly priced either.

www.herrschners.com

sign up for their new letter. The sales change on Wed., but it you go on Tuesday night you can get a jump on things. FYI- I'm not a big fan of Red Heart, but the rest I'm fine with. I did just get a bunch of Bernat Baby Cakes Cotton, which is very Luc like....yipee.

Time to go get serious about getting things back in order around here.

Sorry about the confusion... but I think you know them both already. Just my nicknames.

LUC = Attic 24
Lizzie = By Elizabeth Cat

See, you are on the right track. Stick with these gals and you will be a mad hooker in no time. We all have so much fun over in yarnland. Looking at your bloglist, you are right on track.

I love those granny squares. They are so easy to pick up to work on. I like projects like that.

You're so lucky to be able to jump in and cool off whenever you wish. And what fun for the grandkids!
