Twenty Eight years ago today, we were blessed with our second little bundle of joy. A baby girl! We named her Erika Diane. She was my smallest baby, at 8 lbs 1 oz, 19 inches. She had dark black hair, but not much of it. She was a good baby. Always content. After two pretty sick pregnancies, I was pretty sure that our family was complete. However, this was not to be, as our son Drew came 6 years later. Erika and her sister Gennifer were best of friends. They were the light of our lives!!! Erika was the outgoing one, always willing to talk to whomever would listen. She was a happy little girl, (when she didn't have one of her awful ear infections, that is) and as the girls got a little older, it was Erika who would always get talked into doing the asking for Gennifer too. If we were at McDonald's and her sister needed a straw...Eri would go get her one. If we were at the park, or somewhere with other kids, it was Erika who would gather the kids into a group and play games. Not a shy bone in her body! She made friends easily and everyone was her friend. I cannot believe how swiftly the years have flown by!!!! We moved here to Corona when Eri was a baby. So it is always easy for me to remember how many years we have been in town.
Eri, today, you are twenty eight!!! Just saying that I have daughters who are 28 and 30, makes me gulp. Hard!!! Happy-Happy Birthday my sweet girl! Even though we have been doing a bit of celebrating already, I am looking forward to celebrating with you again tonight. We love you SO much!!!!!!! XOXO

Happy Birthday to your daughter. They are both so pretty. Like their mommy.
Hi Kris, Happy b-day to your baby girls! When my daughter turned 30 this past April, I couldn't believe I could have a kid that old!! It's my #2 brother's b-day today, too and he's the one who lives in Corona.
Since Snacker was raised by herself (an only child, hee, hee), she is more communicative with people and not so used to other hens. I think it's great that you want to move the pecking hens away from her; wish I had a little house to give ya! My hen, Audrey (from my H.S. biology class) used to help herself to not only the dog's food right out of our little dog, Babe's bowl but they would share scraps of table food, too. Amazing that Babe would let her. They got along great. Audrey loved to be pet and would follow me around when I was outside. When I brought her home as a tiny chick, Babe would let her ride around on her back; it was the cutest thing. Maybe Audrey thought she was a dog?! Truly glad that Snacker is thriving and going to be all well.
Yes, that lizard looks hostile! Amazing they can find anything to eat now that you have your chickens Miss Farmer Kris, you! Maybe that is why he was in the can looking for lunch. With 5 bros I got very accustomed to lizards and reptiles in general but I was a girly girl. Better a lizard in the trash can than a rat! Hope you have a fab 3 day wknd planned. Hugs, Annie
Kris,
Another beautiful daughter!
Sounds like "it's a wonderful life!"
