The good news is, this little boy is feeling MUCH better now!
Poor guy was down all week with a terrible flu bug. Today he was much improved. He missed school all week. I let him stay in his jammies all day and just play with his trains. So good to see him feeling better.
The bad news is, Gamma doesn't feel good now. I started to feel crummy yesterday. I had chills and sore throat, and thought for sure I was going down. But it seems to be more cold like than flu like, which is good.
Today when I went out to get the mail I noticed that my roses were all blooming. I had to bring a few in to brighten my spirits.
I love to have fresh cut roses in the house this time of year. From March to November I get to enjoy them.
The heavier layers of the winter months are getting put away, as the fresh face of Spring is revealed.
I made a new curtain for behind my washer and dryer in the laundry room. It hides the unsightly plumbing lines that I don't want to see. I decided to introduce a new color to this room. Buttercup yellow.
Remember the pot rack I painted a few weeks ago? I am thinking of hanging it right here above this coffee/tea station I have in my laundry room right off the kitchen.
We have a Keurig Coffee machine that gets a lot of use. Even though I brew fresh coffee every morning, we use this for coffee on the go, as well as hot tea and hot chocolate. Almost every afternoon about 3, I make myself one cup of coffee with the Keurig.
The pretty wooden box holds a variety of teas and cocoas, and the bowl holds the K Cups for the machine.
My good friend Armenia gave me this pretty box many years ago. I had it in my bedroom until recently, when I thought it would work great for this purpose.
On the top there is a perfect place to hold Geeps vanilla flavoring for his coffee, and honey for our tea, and some flavored powder creamer. ( I always use half & half, no sugar...no flavorings )
I am holding the pot rack with a few mugs on it to see if I like it in here.
I am really anxious to get these cupboards painted now. Hopefully I will be able to do that before Easter.
Yes, I think Spring is on the way.
I was supposed to spend tomorrow with some friends for a day of lunch and shopping. I knew I wasn't going to be feeling up to it. I think it will be a pretty low key weekend compared to the past few we have had. What are you doing this weekend?

Your laundry room is divine! Ours is in this dark little basement :-P Love your coffee station! Thanks for your sweet comment on my last post. I still think you'd love spinning!! Hugs, Teresa
Oh, and I'm so sorry you're feeling sick. ((hugs))
Hi Kris!
I'm sorry you're not feeling well, but happy that Noah is better! Your laundry room is cute. I think the pot rack may look really good in there over the coffee station. Get some rest this weekend and feel better! :)

So glad your little guy is better, but sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you are better soon. LOL....I actually put a shelf above my washer/dryer with a ruffled valance to hide the plumbing stuff!! Thought I was the only one :-)!!!
I always enjoy your posts. So nice, filled with lovely pics of your home. Sorry you are feeling yucky. Working today. Not fun. Have a relaxing healthier day!
Poor sweet friend, I'm sorry you're puny. Your laundy room is so cute. Is that my shower curtain behind your washer? I love buttercup yellow, and it makes everything feel so fresh and spring timey. Feel better. Love ya, H

Poor Kris! Lay low and feel better! And, BTW, I love this post. It's very homey...as all of yours are...and it (they) gives me warm fuzzies. Now, hurry up and feel better! Hugs, Annette

Sorry to hear you may be getting the bug:( I think this season has been a rough one on many. That flu is kicking butt all over the US. Love the bowl that your coffee is in, it looks vintage and matches you mugs perfectly. Did you decide on a paint color for the cabinets? My vote is for Martha Stewarts "Cornbread Yellow." Get well soon:)
You stay well sweet one. Have an afternoon cup of tea to warm your soul and soothe that throat. I just adore you laundry/coffee room. Have a relaxing weekend.
Hey Kris, So sorry you got the cold; I hope it passes quickly. I do want to share something both my daughters use, it is from Whole Foods, and I tried it when we were traveling because I felt like I was fighting the family cold. It is called Propolis Echinacea throat spray, comes in a small 1 oz. bottle which runs around $15.00 but girl it works, tastes awful but it does work. If you have a Whole Foods near you, you might want to pick some up-with 9 grands we've figured out what works. Remember it tastes awful but your throat feels 100% better.
Hugs today.

I spied some Candy Cane Lane tea. That' my favorite Christmassy tea! And I'd also like to live on that lane someday.
I love the boy and his payama!! ha! he is so cute!
and love your pictures as well!!!
Hope you feeling better dear!
My goodness, it must be going around...I have it too and I thought I could out run it. Darn. Put on your pie pants and relax! That's what I am doing. I am drinking tea which I only do when I'm sick. :P I usually drink my coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 and nothing else :) I hope you feel better soon!

sorry to hear you have the sniffles. :( Be sure to eat lots of chicken soup and drink lots of water and tea... It really does help... and of course REST is the most important...take care...
Darn Kris, sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Glad little Noah is doing better. Guess grandma should not have hugged and kissed him. lol! I think the pop of yellow is cute for your laundry. Hubby finishede hanging the beadboard on the wall today. We went and picked up my vintage mirror and got some wood to make a shelf at the top of beadboard. you deserve a break. Get lots of rest and don't forget the aspirin and chicken soup. Darn, you're sick, who will make it?
Hugs,
Jann
Kris, thanks for sharing your lovely post even though you are not feeling well. I admire your cozy tidiness and love your curtain hiding pipes! Wishing you well. <3
I'm so glad Noah is better, but I hate to hear that you are sick. The last couple of times I escaped getting sick when Kevin and Boyd were, but this last time it hit me hard. I hope you start feeling better real soon! Love your laundry room SO much. Everything looks adorable and I love the coffee on the run. You have the best house! xoxo.
Hi Kris,
I hope you feel better soon! Your roses were just a feast for the eyes. I am so ready for something, anything to bloom! I love the yellow that you introduced. Very sunny and cheerful.
Betsy
Glad the little one is feeling better but sorry you're not.. I absolutely love your laundry room.. wish mine was as big and I love what you've done with it..
Robyn
I really like your laundry room and the butter cup yellow color. Never thought of hanging a curtain behind the machines to cover up the ugly stuff ! Creative. Also your front door looks just like the one in our old house--and the same color of paint!
Aw, sorry to hear you are under the weather, Kris! Curl up with a blanket and some of that good coffee! Hope you are feeling better soon! XO
Sorry you're not feeling well.
I love the happy color you have in your laundry room. I think the pot rack will be perfect.

So glad he is feeling better! Funny I posted about our Keurig too and this great K cup organizer I found over the weekend that fits under the pot. It's an awesome space saver! Beautiful flowers!!
Have a great night!
Blessings,
Jill
Wow, it's coming together and lookin' so good. Hope you get to paint before Easter. Glad you didn't suffer too much with that darn bug.
