Sweet Sunday At Home!

We had such a nice day today.  Nothing special, just stayed home and did normal things.  I woke up feeling SO much better.  What a relief that was!!!  It was a really warm day, and I had planned to just relax and read by the pool.  Float a little bit too maybe.  But first, I went to spend some time with my friend Jae this morning.  She is not feeling well, and I am a little bit worried about her.  She is not ever one to be down.  And even when something is ailing her, she NEVER complains.  She 8 years my senior, and can still whip me at any sport!   I hope she will be up and at em' in no time!
One by one today, our kids came over.  There was car washing going on.  Laundry being done by our youngest.  And later, Gennifer and Jake and the girls arrived  for some pool time.  She brought this delicious pasta salad to share.
As well as a beautiful fresh fruit salad!  I put together a quick cheese tray with a variety of cheeses and salami and crackers.
We had ourselves a delicious and light summer meal outside, while watching the pool activities.  Uncle Drew...throw me in the air!!!
Geeps tossed the water football to the kids.
There was lots of cannon balling and diving going on!
 Cousin Love.
And some silliness too.
Some sneaked off to slip into the warm spa, in our Secret Garden.

And as the sun began to fade, so did the kids!   It was time for everyone to take tired kids, and fresh clean laundry home.
The towels and swimsuits were hung out on the line to dry.
I went out to water and say hello to my garden.  My cantaloupe are getting big.
String Beans almost ready for harvest!
Tomatoes are blushing and there are a few ready every day.
When I am out in the garden, I tend to do a lot of snacking.  I love to pluck the sweet cherry tomatoes off the bush and straight into my mouth!   And I love the peas!  I eat them when they are young, pod and all.  Sweet and tender.  And I let some mature, and I crack the pods and eat the sweet peas inside!  None have made it to the pot yet!!
It looks like a little canoe, filled with Pea(ple)!   I have a few strawberry plants, and these are also ripening in the sun, and then eaten right there in the garden!
Sweet and juicy!
The pool toys were stacked and put away.  The waves settled down, as the gate to the pool was closed and locked, put away for another day.
Geeps and I went out back to the back patio, and enjoyed the last bit of daylight to read our books.
As the sun set on this perfect Sunday,  we both agreed, that it is days like this one, that make our hearts sing.  We go to bed tonight feeling very, very blessed.
XO  Kris

Nature's candy from the garden, and family...nothing could be better! Sadly, up north there hasn't been enough sun yet to heat up the garden. It will be an interesting summer.

Oh Kris I loved living through this day with you. It sounded just perfect. Sooo like the ones we used to live back on Diana Crt. in Upland. Glad your feeling better...I read back through all the posts I missed. Your Jubilee is just GORGEOUS! I love it. Your garden is producing such wonders. Praying your friend feels well and is back to her old self soon.

Kris, now that truly was a perfect, heart and soul satisfying day. That pool really brings the families and kids together! This is something the grandchildren will remember as their childhood. That a wonderful gift!
Nice that you could relax too. (a little)

Hi Kris, What a wonderful Sunday for you. Love everything about it; in fact yesterday when we were at the public pool I thought about how nice it would be to have one in the backyard or really close so the grands could come over whenever they wanted. Your life is wonderful my friend and I know that positive attitude rubs off on others-hoping your friend felt so much better after seeing you!
Hugs, Noreen

It is lovely to look at your family enjoying the Summer and the pleasures it brings, we are in the middle of Winter here in Australia :)

Your pea pod reminds me of a post I saw recently on facebook where it said "Peas be with You" with a lovely picture of a pea pod!
