Blog Hop Tour

My Blog friend, turned real life friend, Patty from Lemon Lane Cottage asked me to participate in this little blog hop tour.  I met Patty in real life, after having followed her blog and getting to know her through her beautiful words and photos.  I have known Patty now for a few years, and can tell you that she is just as real, and warm in person, as she is on her blog.  Patty and I share many things in common.  Both of us married for a long time, with grown kids, and grandchildren about the same age as well.  We both love to garden, and write, and sew and create. Patty is also a wonderful artist.  If you haven't already been by to see her, please do stop by and say hello.  You will be so glad you did!
I will answer the same questions that Patty was asked to answer on her blog.
Here we go!

1.  What am I working on?
Creatively I am working on several things at once.  Which is not unusual for me.  I am working on a small crochet project for the house.  And in my sewing room, I am working on getting several table toppers and lap size quilts machine quilted and bound so that I can display them.  I usually have several things going on at one time.  And always, a fair amount of WIP in my sewing room too!
2.  How does my work differ from others?
I don't know that my work differs so much from others, but I do have many creative interests that keep me busy.  From sewing and quilting, to crochet and knit.  Then to gardening, raising chickens, and cooking and photography!  I love to keep busy, and I love to write and take photos.  So blogging seemed the perfect fit for me, and I have been faithfully keeping my blog since I first began, a good 5 years ago.
3.  Why do I write/create what I do?
This is a hard question to answer.  Let's take gardening.  Why do I garden?  Several reasons.  One is that I love to cook.  And  I love to cook with fresh ingredients.  But mostly, I garden because it soothes me, and brings me a great sense of peace.  I am a go, go, go type of person.  Gardening calms that in me.
A few years ago when I began to raise chickens, the gardening really took off for me.  Having the fresh fertilizer here at my disposal, anytime I wanted it, has really bumped my garden up to the next level.  The two really do go hand in hand.  Every summer I plan out  how I can expand for next season!

4.  How does your writing/creating process work?
I don't know.  It just comes to me.  This year has been a difficult year for us, and keeping my blog up, and tending to my gardens has been wonderful therapy for me.
I always have a list in my head, of the many things I want to create.  My fear is that I won't have enough time to do all that I want to do.  I wonder if other creative people feel the same way?

As part of the blog hop tour, I am now to ask another favorite blogger to participate.  However, due to an extremely busy weekend, and past few days, I have not had the chance to actually ask this friend of mine, if she would be willing to participate.  So, I am hoping she will say yes.
My friend Linda from Woke Up, Got Out Of Bed, has a delightful blog!!!  She has an incredibly green thumb with her wonderful flowers!  And she and her family have a most charming cottage that they spend their spare time at.  She loves to crochet too, and go thrifting for that special treasure, just like I do.  She is a fantastic cook and bakes the most delicious goodies.  I hope she will say yes.  Do go say hello to my friend Linda!!!!  And Patty, thanks for the invite!  You are an inspiration to me and many others!!
Have a great week everyone!
XO  Kris

Good morning! Enjoyed this Kris! I certainly understand about fearing you won't have enough time to do all the projects in your head. haha I am ALWAYS planning ahead, thinking of something new, anxious to get going. It's a kind of fever I think, lol. Anxious to see some of your toppers and lap quilts! Enjoy your week!

Hi Kris, you are a prolific crafter so I know you'll keep making new and wonderful things. I also worry that I'll lose the ability to make things and that will be the end of me. I'll go check your friend's blogs. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
