Jake's 30th Birthday

We went to Gennifer and Jake's last night to celebrate Jake's 30th Birthday. The kids were pretty cute playing together. Poor Genny didn't feel too well. But we had a delicious bbq and a lot of fun. Here are a couple of pictures. Including the cake I made for Jake that fell. I used my new giant cupcake pan, and if any of you have it and haven't used it yet, be forewarned that there are two seperate parts for the batter, and they are not of equal size. So baking time really does vary. Don't put as much batter in the bottom portion, or it won't cook through, and you too will have a leaning tower of sweetsa!!! The picture of the cakes cooling, doesn't show the bottom portion being undercooked, but on the other side, it had a big sinkhole. It was really cute for about 20 minutes! It was a yummy double chocolate pound cake, iced in cocoa buttercream on the bottom and vanilla buttercream on the top.

Hi Kris- It's Amy...Genn's friend. I have this cake pan, my husband bought it for me for Christmas. I've only used it once and I too had issues. I think that I didn't put enough batter in the top part because I thought it would overflow, but then it came out unproportioned. The top was smaller than the bottom. I still think it makes cute cakes, just too bad it's not easier. I love all of your cookies and cakes!
