Never Forget

I would be remiss to let this day go by without mentioning what most surely has been on all of our minds today, the anniversary of the day that changed so many lives forever. I hope everyone took some time today to reflect a little bit on that day 7 years ago.

Too many people do forget about that day. It's nice that you remembered. Proud to be an American!!!

Seven years ago already... wow! What a sad day. I remember Genny and I were living together but she was away visiting Jake in Idaho. She couldn't come home for days... I was scared for her to fly. It was such a somber day. And it still is. Jason and I watched a little bit of the news as it happened that morning 7 years ago. We couldn't watch any more than 15 minutes though. It was just too sad. God Bless America and all our soldiers still fighting for us!

I often think about that day. Not just on the 11th of September. Such a tragedy for so many people. I remember how impressed I was with that poem that Drew wrote about that day for school. I was amazed at the impact it seemed to have on him when he was so young.

I also remember being scared to get on a plane and fly home after having been stuck in Idaho for days. I looked at everyone on my flight wondering if they were a terrorist. So scary.

Dad and I were talking last night about how awful it was to have you out of the state, and knowing you had to fly home still! It was an awful time. I still remember driving around town and seeing all of the American flags flying, and it choked me up so. Still does.
