LEAPIN' LIZARDS!!!

I have been cleaning all morning. As I walked through the family room after my shower, something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. At first I thought it was a leaf. But how would that have gotten there after I have swept, vacuumed and mopped every floor surface of the house? Nope, it wasn't a leaf. It was a LIZARD!!!!! And this is the second time I have found a lizard in my house! The last time was about a year ago, and it was on the fireplace screen. This one was near the fireplace too. I think they come through the chimney. I have no open windows, no doggie door??? I am home alone, and had to act fast. I bolted to the garage where I knew I had a clean and empty coffee can. Grabbed it, and ran back, grabbing a broom for extra weaponry, should the need arise. I swiftly placed the can over the lizard, and in the process the poor bugger lost his tail. The tail was a goin' back and forth, and freaking me out, but I had to make sure that lizard was contained!!! I knew the tail couldn't run too far! Then, after I collected myself, I had to figure out how to get the lid on the can and dispose of it. So, I just sort of shook the can and shoved the lid on and quickly ran outside to get rid of the scaly reptile!! Phew.........lizard ran into the bushes, and I survived my second attack of the lizard!!

Boy am I glad you made it out alive!!!! =) I don't know what I would have done! That is smart thinking with the coffee can. Yuck about the leftover lizard tail though. I think I might have just ran out of my house screaming in hopes that a neighborly neighbor might come get it for me. Way to take control!

I don't mind a lizzard outside but HATE when I find one inside! I found a baby gecko in my house the other day. They move so darn fast it was hard to catch it. Glad your crisis was averted.

By the way, the store I wrote about a few months ago is now open in Calif...TaiPan. My sister in law was in California this past week and says it is now open. It's out by Ontario Mills.
