First Tablescape Tuesday

I added a couple of tighter shots in these ammended photos. Susan said "close ups girl!" so here are a few. Also...HOW could I have forgotten my beautiful champagne bucket? My friend Maryrose got this for me and it is one of my favorite pieces to entertain with! The gold top on the glass jar is a reindeer Susan. And there is a better picture of the famous Arby's wine glasses! The flatware is silver and gold. I bought it about 5 years ago, and I bought two chests with service for 12 in each, so I would have a bunch! And I also have an additional service for 8 that matches it nicely, for service for 32! The little ceramic menu stand I bought at an antique store years ago. It also has 12 little placecards that match. It is fun to change that up for any occasion.

I stumbled upon this blog that hosts something called Tablescape Tuesdays. Susan at Between Naps On The Porch hosts this fun idea. To see all of the participating tablescapes, visit her at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ I was just in heaven looking at all of the fun tablescapes that other people have creatively put together. This one was done without any preparation. But I know this will not only be a fun blogging day, but also one that will be full of ideas for someone like me who loves dishes and doing tables!!!
This is my "preliminary" New Year's Eve dinner table. We have no dining room in our house, so most all of our entertaining is quite casual.
These are simple white dishes with a gold band around edge. Gold chargers, and gold and silver flatware. The wine glasses are, dare I say it......a holiday special from Arby's from several years ago, and I went back time and again to get as many as I could. Wish I had gotten many more. They are sturdy and so pretty. The center runner is a window panel I bought from Home Goods and it is extra wide and extra long, and I use it on the table in lots of different ways. It has a pretty sheen to it. The center piece is a canister from Tai Pan Trading Co. I love the reindeer on top. It has gold ribbon inside. Candle sticks are of varying heights and hold plain white tapers.

Thanks for stopping by Tablescape Tuesday! See you next time.
PS Maryrose and Lauri......you are going to LOVE this when you see all of these beautiful tables!!! I immediately thought of the two of you!

What a fun idea. I had a lot of fun going through and seeing what other people had come up with. I got a lot of good ideas.

Your table looks fabulous. I love the idea of a window panel...so many uses! Your goblets are great. I love finds like that!

What are you going to serve on this beautiful table?

Hi Lauri,
The table is a mock up. Usually we have our friends here for dinner, but they made other plans this year. So I am picking up a honey baked ham tomorrow, and whoever wants to eat can come hungry and enjoy. I will do some scalloped potatoes, and veggies. But I am mostly excited to use the leftover ham and bone for a pot of beans on New Years!!!

Kris I am so sorry to miss the table since we are the friends who usually come for dinner. I hope we get a rain check because I am mourning our traditional New Years Eve to do. Love your table and I will check out the site. I haven't had a chance yet but I am looking forward to it. Enjoy the honey baked ham and the fam and I will see you in 09. Can't wait. Miss you.

P.S. I think I have drank wine from those glasses and yes they are indeed a great find. All is very pretty as is your usual Kris way.

Oh yea, I forgot when Kelly came with us to that Arby's to snag more of those winter wine glasses. How funny. I still have mine and use them too.

Very beautiful table!
