Glorious Spring!!!!

Ahhhh, I love March! Everything begins to wake up and come alive! These past few days along with the pleasant weather, we have been enjoying having our windows wide open. And drifting in with the gentle breezes, is a scent so intoxicating you could lose your train of thought as it slips slowly under your nose and wakens your senses.......the orange blossoms! It sneaks up on you, just about the time you think winter may never leave. And then suddenly, it is here, the heady, sweet reminder that spring beckons, and summer will soon follow. When we moved to Corona, 25 years ago, I can still remember those first spring days, as that scent filled the evening air, and snuck into our house in the night to lay like a soft silky sheet over us until morning came, and then it returned again each evening, like a gift, for a few short weeks to announce the arrival of Spring...glorious spring!

I just returned from a little walk in the orange grove. Every tree is bursting! And my friends the bumpy avocados lie waiting to be picked and then turned into tasty treats like guacamole and sliced onto sandwiches, and wedged on our salads. Tonight we will be having shrimp salad in avocado cups!
Welcome Spring!

Nothing like the sweet fragrance of orange blossoms! I love, love, love it. However, for some reason, the orange blossoms here give me allergies; something I never had a problem with in California.

I love the orange blossoms. It's too bad Corona has chopped down all the trees, I remember the only good thing about walking "home" from school in junior high was the smell of those blossoms.

I can also smell them with you. I love the smell of orange blossoms. One of my favorite scents.

Lauri, how crazy! But I do hear of people all the time developing allergies in their adult life that they never had before.
What's new with you?
Kristi, yes years ago the city was filled with orange groves. So sad to see them go.
Nicole, hope you are feeling better.
Amy, I will post it right now for you as they were delish! No pic though, but they are super easy.

I remember when Corona was orange grove from Ontario up to Cleveland National forest. That's where the "kids" went to 'Party" I do miss the groves, there is nothing like the smell of orange blossoms. I bet you are loving every minute with that entire grove just blooming. I need to come over for a sniff....

I need avo trees. So jealous. I can't tell you how much I spend a year on avos. And the smell of orange blossoms, what a treat.
