Shower Cake

This cake is going out in the morning for a baby shower for a little boy. The theme of the shower is books. The invitations were handmade to look like old school library cards for checking out books. I had a hard time getting my inspiration for this one. But in the end, I liked it. It is a 1/4 sheet white almond sour cream cake with raspberry filling, and then on top is another "book" cake. I used rice paper for the first time to do the writing. I used straight color and a fine paint brush to write the nursery rhyme. The little mini books are from an alphabet set I bought and were the perfect scale for the cake.

Who else could make cake look like a book? It actually has pages and everything! Great job! They are going to love it.

As I began reading, I was wondering how you were going to make something with a book theme. You did not disappoint.
