Flowers!

I wish I really knew more about floral design. Someday I want to learn. But for now, I have fun playing with it. I got this great vase from my Mom. It is a heavy iron based, ceramic vase with a glazed interior and pretty iron handles on the sides. I love the height of this one. I have a lot of tall flowers, like bird of paradise that look great in tall arrangements. I bought a bunch of sunflowers, and then picked hydrangeas and mock orange, and other greenery for this arrangement. Erika received a pretty and TALL arrangement, and I took the gladiolas and star gazer lilies and added those to this too. I have been changing out the water and it is still pretty almost a week later.

For this pretty white urn, I used my own roses, my own hydrangea, mock orange, and then I took a few grapes and their trail of leaves from the grape arbor and put those in there. I LOVE the addition of the not quite ripe green grapes added to this. My arbor is loaded with them, and as soon as they ripen, the opposums will eat them overnight anyways. So what better way to use them than this. I also have berries growing in the grove and those are pretty in flower arrangements too. I will use those next time. Until then, don't forget to stop and smell the roses!

Those are beautiful. There is nothing like a fresh flower arrangement inside. When I was a kid, I'd clean my room, and go outside and pick my Mom's roses and flowers and make an arrangement for my room. That's also where I go for my guest bedroom now!! I'm dying for a pretty backyard full of flowers and roses to choose from. Your's look outstanding!!

I just LOVE that arrangement!! I love sunflowers and it was great to see them in a light blue vase, rather than the typical cobalt blue! Very Nice!!!
