It's an empty nest. Today, our youngest moved out. He hugged me when he left, and I stood in the kitchen watching him drive away, with a tear in my eye, and pride in my heart.
Aweeeeee! I didn't realize Drew was going to move out when he left for College. I'm sure you will miss him!! I bet he visits often, too much fun and good eats to pass up on at Camp Runamuk! ;)
AWWWWWW - such a bittersweet time! It is what we raise them to do but at the same time, it is sad too! Thank goodness all the grand kids are around to help fill the holes in the heart!
Kris, What a great post "an empty nest" I have been there down that lately more times than I want to admit. I still have one egg in the nest. I know how you feel and only time will make things better. It is bitter sweet to see them fly and then back again and again and again. I guess that is all part of growing up. I am not sure what happened to us as I don't recall going back again and again and so on?
Boy do I ever know that feeling... = ( It's funny how I ALWAYS taught my kids to be indepentent and think for themselves etc., and yet when it was time for them to move on with their lives, I was the one who had such a hard time letting go...He'll be back...Debbie
Oh Kris, I didn't know he was moving out. He has become such a wonderful young man... I am sure he will be very successful..in fact he already is. Enjoy the nest.

Aaaw. Schmoops is gone? Don't worry mom, he might circle the nest a couple times. :)
In my head, I think I really look forward to that time...but when it comes, I'm sure it's bittersweet.
It really creates mixed feelings, doesn't it?

Ahhh, I'm sure you'll learn to love your empty nest, I know my Mom has! I bet Drew is proud of himself!

Wow...what a bittersweet day. I took my daughter to first grade and cried all the way home. They grow up too fast.
