Harvest Festival At My Mom's

Tonight we went to a Harvest Festival at my Mom's. It was so cute! They had a designated area for the carnival, with rides, games, balloons, etc...but we didn't go to the carnival since our little ones weren't able to be there tonight. But after the carnival, the children are led to one street in my Mom's development where they decorate the whole thing, and all the homeowners come and sit outside, many of them dressed up too, and pass out candy to the little ones.
This was Mom's set up, and we had the best time sitting out there watching these cute kids come trick or treating. I have never seen so many kids in costume, and it was so orderly and fun, both for parents and kids, to be off the main streets, and have one street to parade through with total participation. First we saw an adorable pink poodle......
And then they came in droves!!!
A darling Winnie The Pooh....
A sweet little dancing girl who obliged me with a pose! I thought she looked like Shirley Temple.
Two sleepy little twin fairies.....
One of many Buzz Lightyear's......and there were SO many more. All so cute, all very polite, and they were all little ones, so excited and happy to be getting their treats. Not like the skateboarding teenagers we have been used to seeing in years past, with white pillow cases for their loot, and smart alec comments on the way out if their treat wasn't quite right. THIS was a fun and refreshing TREAT for us!!! Can't wait til next year, and having my own little trick or treaters come and join the fun.
After the parade of trick or treaters, we went inside to have chili dogs and finish watching the Angel Vs Yankees. Unfortunately, our team lost. Maybe next year we will have a local team in the World Series. Below is my Mom and niece Deanna.
My Mom had her boat named, and David put the name on for her recently. So I wanted to get a photo of her with it. I had a better picture with the boat, but this was the one I liked of my Mom the best. My Mom is Diane, and her boat is Lady Di. What a fun evening! Thank you Mom!!!

This looks REALLY fun Kris...how darling they are. I love the sweet little ones too at the door. I can't believe how old some of the trick or treaters are that we get anymore. A good 15 or more easy...but I have never had one be rude, thank goodness, and I figure if they want to get into a costume and go door to door, go for it. haha Guess there is a lot worse things they could be doing. It just seems like by 12 or so you should be done going door to door anyway. Your mom's boat looks nice. Bet that is fun too...Have a GREAT day...

I'm with you....I'd like Halloween a lot better if only those 12 and under came Trick or Treating. This looks like a lot of fun.

What a great time for both spooktators and spooks. Cute pics and love your mom's boat. I am waiting for my invitation to have a sunset sail. Would love to see her place. Nice to see she is feeling better. Happy Days Diane :)

What a fun night! It's much too cold and rainy here to set up outside but it sure looks like a great idea. I love seeing all the little toddlers dressed up.
