Closer To Christmas....

If it is true that having a bird nest in your Christmas tree, will bring you luck in the coming year, then we should be having quite a good 2010!!  This year, I left all of my ornaments and baubles in the box, and decorated with birds, bird nests, and coppery brown poinsettias.  I do have a few strands of lights on the tree as well.   And it is so pretty in the evening, with just a soft glow of light.  I am enjoying getting prepared for Christmas this year, more so than in a very long time.  After losing my dad 6 years ago, right before Christmas, the holiday magic was lost.  But now, we have three bouncing little grandchildren, that have brought the magic back.  Everything is brand new again this season.  And seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child is truly something to enjoy!

I love your tree...just simple beauty. And your grandchildren are darling. Noah's look is really changing and he sure is growing up!

I felt the same way after Kevin died and Christmas was a very difficult time for me. The past few years have become much easier and joyful for me. As I look outward and try to do things for others, my burden becomes lighter.

What I can see of your tree is soo pretty. I have a feeling it is GORGEOUS in person...I do know just what you mean. If it wasn't for those sweet happy little faces sooo excited, it would be soo easy to skip alot of the "work" of Christmas sometimes. I am soo glad you have found your "joy" again in the season...

Your tree is beautiful but it doesn't even compare with the beauty and joy in the three bottom pictures! This will be the beginning of new Christmas memories! Enjoy!

Hi Kris,
I know how you feel...I think I was feeling totally different this year too, for the first time in a while. Your tree look great. I have a few birdnests in mine too so that must mean I have some good luck coming too. You can never have too much good luck in this economy. Everything is so pretty, I need to see it in person...maybe I can get an invite for some eggnog. Have a great day.
PS. You are also right about the gkids...puts a different perspective on everything.
