Good News & Bad News

The good news is, Mr. G has passed the kidney stone.  The bad news is, when he was in Mexico and went to the clinic because he was in so much pain, the nurse gave him a shot for pain, and as was his fear, the nurse shot him right into a nerve. Not the sciatic, but there is another nerve that runs down towards the front of the leg, and this is what he hit.  So, two trips to the clinica in Mexico, one to the emergency room here upon arriving back in the states, two trips to the urologist, one CT scan, and an ultra sound, and finally today, yet another doctor, two more shots for pain, and a shot to calm the nerve later, it is confirmed that he did in fact suffer nerve damage.  This is incredibly painful, and can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of years to heal.   In addition to the two shots today, which he says don't seem to be helping at all, he was given 3 scrips for medications.  One for pain, one to calm the nerve and help him sleep, and a steroid.  So hoping this helps him.  It has been one week and two long and painful days since the onset of the kidney stone.  Poor guy.  A lot of friends and family have been calling.  Maybe this way, I won't have to make a gazillion calls back to everyone.  Thank you to all of our family and friends who have been checking on him daily.

Hi Kris, OH my what a horrid time for your hubby! I herniated three discs about 14 yrs ago and suffered from two bouts of sciatica then and just recently when we were on vacation on Kauia I had another bout-not as bad as the last two but it is no fun. Can he apply ice to help with the pain? Praying that all the med's and rest help him to recover quickly. Have a restful weekend.
Love, Noreen

SURELY two years can't be right...at least praise God the kidney stone has passed. Hope he gets some rest now with these new meds. Have a good week-end...HUGS
