UNbelievable

As most of you know, Greg has been down with some serious nerve damage for the last 3 weeks.  He is getting better, but it has been slow, and he has a long ways to go yet.  Freakishly.....last Tuesday, I began to notice what at first was mild discomfort in my lower right back.  Within 24 hours though, it became quite painful, and then I noticed my entire right hip and thigh were numb.  And by day two, the pain was really bad.  I could NOT believe that I too was having nerve pain like Greg?  And how???  I didn't recall doing any one thing that hurt my back.  I do remember giving Noah a "horsey" ride on my legs, but it didn't hurt.  At least not at the time.  I went ahead and made myself a Dr. appointment for yesterday afternoon.  If you know me, you know I was hurting, because I don't go to the doctors unless I absolutely MUST!  By the time I went to the doctor's office, I was in a world of hurt!  I am so glad I went.  She felt that the spine and discs were okay, but that I had a badly pulled and inflamed muscle that was pressing on a nerve.  She gave me 5 scrips, 3 for my back, and two for my skin.  She said it would be a good 30 days until I was back to myself.  I go back in two weeks and will then probably start some PT.  Our house looks like a couple of elderly and infirm live here.
I am a goer, a mover, a doer.  I don't "do" laying around, taking it easy.  It just isn't me.  I hate it.  I hate to sit still.  I hate to be stuck in the house all day.  I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!  I'm not sick!!!  It is beautiful outside!  I want to go work in the yard, or walk around  Sam's Club, or drive out to Cajalco and go shopping!  I want to talk about where we can go out to dinner, and then go see a movie!!!
Waaaaaaaaa!!!!!!   I don't like this!!!!!

Oh Kris I am soo sorry that this has happened...and I do know how you feel. I am VERY VERY tired of being VERY VERY tired and sitting around with sooo much to do....I was thinking yesterday as I "watched" my wonderful sister Diane helping my poor hubby pack up this GIGANTIC house, that I will have a new appriciation for my health when this is finally over, and just how blessed I am that it IS getting done with my rear end so firmly parked like it is. I will definitely pray that you heal quickly and that you aren't too bored or frustrated. Forced sitting around is the pitts....HUGS to you, Debbie

Hi dear friend, So glad you went to the doctors and that it isn't a disc problem-plus you are icing and have med's. I understand being stuck in the house cause we have had non-stop rain and can't get out and do summer things.
Hey, I have meant to ask you for the name of the quilt pattern above the couch-I love it and have wanted to know what it is forever.
Be blessed and know many prayers are going up.
Hugs, Noreen

Hi there again, Thanks for the quilt info-I just know if we were neighbors our hubby's would be golfing together and we'd be quilting....but since we both needs our grands around guess we'll have to visit through blogland. BTW, my doctor once told me that to injure your back(as a women)it is not from a one time activity but from a lifetime of doing all the things we gals do.
Thanks so much for the info on the quilt book-and name of the book-I think I'll have to find this.
Hugs,
Noreen
