Directions for Pocketbook Maryjane Slippers

Okay fellow knitters.  Here are the directions for making these cute slippers.
Using two skeins of any nice washable yarn.  You could use wool, but you would have to hand wash in cold water.  I used a solid red and a red/white blend.  Use both strands together.  I used size 8 needles.
Cast on 5 st.
Knit 4 rows   (I have a smallish foot, size 7 and these would work for size 7 and up as they stretch)
Next Row:  Increase in 2nd stitch row until you have 22 stitches on the needle.
Next Row:  Increase in each stitch, to 44 stitches.
Next Row:  Knit 2, Purl 2 for 6 inches.
Next Row:  Knit 2 together across giving you 22 stitches.
Next Row:  Decrease in 2nd stitch at beginning of every row until you have 5 stitches on the needle.
Knit 10 rows  ( I did not knit 10 rows here.  I simply measured to make sure I had same length and ended at about 4 or 5)  I think 10 might be too many, and you want the strap across the arch to be somewhat snug.
Cast off.  Fold in half and sew the K2 & P2 sides together and the 5ths on top together to form a strap.  Decorate with a button or ribbon or jewelry, or pom pom if desired.
These are fun to make.  If you make some, be sure to post a picture and share.
This is a picture of the first slipper, in progress.  Thought it might help to visualize it.  This is what it will look like, although I believe I had one or two more inches of K2, P2 to go for the entire 6 inches.  So when done, it will by the same on opposite ends of the K2, P2.  When folded together, you get the "purse look" and sew side seams.  Refer to previous post for photos.
Enjoy!

I would like a wash cloth with those same colors for my kitchen sink. Thanks!

Is this where I place my orders? Is it free shipping?

Those are just adorable!!! I wrote in my last post that I've been too busy to blog so it will be a while until I'm back on but I had to see what you were doing. Don't tell anyone else I'm on here, they think I'm too busy to check their blogs.

I love the slippers. I can crochet, but not very good with knitting. May I can figure out how to convert. You think?

I love these slippers! I've tried to knit before and for some reason I just don't get it. I would be so happy if I could make these. Maybe I'll try again.
