Friday Finds

My two daughters told me about this coffee creamer.  I love cream in my coffee.  But these days I tend to use either a fat free creamer, or on special occasions, like the holidays, I love the Pumpkin Spice Creamer, or regular 1/2 & 1/2.  This coconut creamer is fabulous!!!  It is supposed to be a much healthier alternative.
Next up...I discovered this wonderful line of soaps back in the Fall.  I love the dish soap in Basil and the hand soap too.  I gave several of these away along with my hand made knit dishcloths for Christmas to friends and neighbors.  My daughter Gennifer just discovered this product, by the same makers of the soaps.  It is an all purpose cleaner.  It says counter top cleaner.  It smells just as yummy, and works great!
To the left of the Meyer's is a product I have been using for about 25 years.  I used this product in the restaurant I worked in, to clean and polish the bar, and brass, and any metal or stainless steel surface.  Any surface really.  I can only find it at Smart & Final.  It is called Sheila Shine.  Great stuff.
Next find is a hair product.  I use the hairspray, and love it.  I just bought the dry shampoo, and was equally pleased.  Lets you go another day when you may not have time to shampoo and dry and style.  Besides, everyone knows that 2 to 3 day "dirty" hair is much more obedient.
This next find, I actually blogged about a couple of weeks ago.  I had a heck of a time finding it.  But have since found that Target carries it, and in abundance!  This is a product designed for chafing relief.  But has been discovered to work as a wonderful face primer for underneath your makeup.  It consists of the exact same ingredient, dimethicone, that high end makeup counters sell for face primer.  It goes on like silk, and dries to a powdery soft surface for applying your makeup.  I LOVE THIS product!  I can't use many new things, on my extremely sensitive skin, and I love the results of this super CHEAP face primer!  I will never put makeup on without it!
My last Friday Find for today, is not a product like the others I have listed, but rather something I have just been wanting to find.  Wooden, old school coat hangers.  The vintage kind you used to see crocheted, that are now becoming popular again.  Especially among us Yarny Folk.  Not to be confused with Carni Folk.
I have a favorite antique-vintage shop here in my town.  I just love this little place, located at the historic citrus heritage park near my home.  The lady that operates the shop is a great gal.  I always enjoy going in to visit with her.  She carries new stuff every week.  I love vintage linens, and kitcheny type stuff, like aprons and pot  holders.  I almost always find something fun in there.
Meet Terri.  She grew up here in Corona.  Graduated from Corona High.  She and her Mom have been hunting for vintage treasures for years.  She has a terrific collection of vintage clothing, hats, purses, shoes, and jewelry too.  Furniture, records, western garb, well...you name it, and she has got it.
Oh, I am getting off track.  Anyway, I went in the other day in search of some of these.
She rustled around in her big box of hangers and pulled three up for me.  She said she was going to keep an eye out from now on for me.  Bless her.  Now my secret is out on the great vintage shop I love to explore.  But I would hate to see her close up, so the more business I can bring her way, the better.
I had no idea how to crochet the covers for these.  I You tubed, I Googled, and I blog hopped in search of answers.  I got ideas, but no real patterns.  So last night while watching Idle, I made this.
I just chained to the length of the hanger.  Then double crocheted for three rows, I think.  Then slip stitched in closed, after laying across metal hook and centering.  Then, because I thought it needed something more, I made a flower to attach to the front.  I used Vanna's variegated worsted weight.  Next up...shell stitch cover.
Happy Friday everyone!  Can't wait for Mr. G to get home to take me to dinner!

Fun Friday finds. I'll have to check out that dry shampoo. A lot of people I know might be more interested in that if it's cheaper than the bed head and it works.
Cute hanger. I am nuts about Mrs Meyers cleaning products now! I want to try their laundry detergent. I saw some at Henry's. Glad you liked the coconut creamer too. I love it. I'm hooked.

The hanger is just darling, nice job. I've been using the gel as a primer since you first blogged about it and I love the soft feel of it. So glad you recommended. Have a great weekend

Hi Kris, what a great post ... thanks for showing all the neat products. To use them for that long they must be good. Making note here! I love what you did to the hanger. I have to go look now to see if I have any of those hangers, know I used to back when but not sure they are sitll around. I would love them for a guest closet (well, mine too). Have a good weekend.

Hi Kris, Firstly, I love the hanger cover-spectacular!!! Also I've used Myers(got a dishcloth and bottle for Christmas from a daughter)and love the smell plus it being natural. Thanks for the tip on the makeup primer/powder-gel; will have to find some and try it. I use creamer and because I try to use Almond milk will look for this. Thanks for all the great tips!
Happy Weekend,
Noreen

Wow, what great finds! I have the Meyer's hand soap, it was a little hostess gift that I got. That's my first time hearing about it. I had no idea that they make cleaners too!

I will definitely be trying that dry shampoo too!

Is that creamer sweet? I try to have sweet creamers but in the morning I just can't. I don't know why. But I love coconut! Maybe if it's sweet it would be good for my afternoon cup!
