Weekend Happenings

Yesterday morning after Weight Watchers (down total of 5.8 ) I went to the local Farmer's Market with my daughter Gennifer and the girls.  I didn't bring my camera, but she did.  You can hop over there to see her pictures.          Gennifer's Blog
I got home and unpacked my things, and discovered I was short one bag of produce.  DARN!!
I made this lunch for myself out of the fresh spinach I bought, some sliced strawberries from farmer's market, added a few blueberries, and matchstick jicama, sprinkled some sunflower seeds on top, and crumbled some oh so creamy goat cheese, then topped with a wee bit of poppy seed dressing.  A brown rice cake on the side for crunch.  HEAVEN!
The flower guy has the most gorgeous blooms!  I bought some beautiful Gerbera Daisies, and Freesia.
I added some tall Bird Of Paradise from my yard to this mix.  I LOVE this tall turquoise vase!
The yellow Freesia smells so delicious.
Mr. G was working yesterday, so I puttered around the house, putting some of my Spring things out.
That little carrot table top runner is a quilt as you go project.  Loved making this!

Yesterday afternoon, we went out to see our dear friend's Ron and Sue, and their new grandson Aydan Scott.  We met at Aydan's new house.  What a handsome boy he is!!!  I have known Zach, Aydan's Daddy, and Ron and Sue's son, his whole life.  His parents went to high school with me.  It was a little strange watching this now grown up man, with his own little boy.  He was SO good with the baby too!!!
And so was Auntie Courtney!!!   Court is Zach's big sister.  She and my girls grew up together.
Here is a picture of Aydan's Mommy and Daddy together.
My friend, Grandma Sue.
I don't know where Grandpa Ron was during photo time.  I wanted a picture of him with the baby too.  Here is one of the boys.  Zach was showing us his "Men's Town" in the garage.

I took these pictures in Aydan's room.  Zach and Danielle made this cast of Danielle's tummy a few weeks before the baby was born.  I thought it was so pretty hanging in the baby's room.
And this sweet saying was on the wall above Aydan's crib.
We had a wonderful dinner, high atop a hill, overlooking the city lights, at Orange County Mining Company.  I had not been here since high school.  A VERY long time ago!  After dinner we sat outside on the patio and had a drink and watched the fireworks from Disneyland.  It was a perfect evening. Thank you Ron and Sue!
Welcome to Grandparenthood!!!  You are going to love it!!!
Now I think I will go quilt.
Happy Sunday!

I want to live in your house. It's so homey (and clean). I don't want to clean my houe anymore, I think I'll just move into a cleaner one. Sounds like you had a busy weekend too. Those pics of your on Gen's blog are really cute. You look great! Congrats on the 5.8!!!!

Sweet post.

I'm so glad I don't have a cast of me when I was preggers. Oh my lord...I was a whale and not at all a "cute" or "glowing" pregnant lady. I wish I had known then what I know now. Sigh.

Oh my gosh, I can not get over how much Zach looks like Ron!!! Exactly!! I guess I have not seen him in years and it's like looking at Ron! That's crazy. His baby is cute. Cute pic of Courtney holding him too.

Thanks so much for all your help today! It was fun. I love the yellow!!
