Today I Find Beauty

Have you ever gotten some news that stopped you in your tracks?   Took your breath away?  Made you realize that NOTHING else is more important than your family's health?  Nothing.  Not the messy bathroom.  Or the weeds that need pulling.  The trees that need trimming.  The wood that needs chopping.  The dishes in the sink.  The dust on the tables.  Nothing.
Today I woke, and everything seemed different.  Perfect.  In all of it's ordinary.  It was perfect.
My coffee tasted better.  The sun shone brighter.  I opened my front door, and in the stillness of the early morning, it was so pretty, that I had to go get my camera.
Then, I strolled through the grove, and even standing on the sport court, where only one week before, all I could see was what needed to be done, today......it looked beautiful to me.
I heard the birds chirping their songs.
The sun shining through the trees.
The messy Queen Palms I have always hated, because they are always in need of trimming and they mess up my pool and deck.  Today, their canopy of fronds and flowers only looked beautiful .
My chickens who seem to be taking their sweet time to lay eggs for me. Today, I will just be patient.
Today, I will take pleasure in the simple things.  A darling notebook my friend Holly made for me.
Gifts from the heart from sweet friends.
I will see things differently.  Today.

Today, I will not see dust, and laundry that needs to be done.   I will not see dirty floors, or messy bathrooms.  Today, I will see the beauty that is all around me.
Go make it a great day.  And hug someone you love!!!

Isn't it strange? I feel the same way. Enjoying the morning. Counting my blessings. And oh so thankful for friends like you! Now, I'll give you $20 for a donut.

This was beautiful, Kris! It is so wonderful to cherish "the ordinary day" as much as special occasion days. We have so many more of them!

Dear Kris, I do hope you didn't hear something really bad. What a gorgeous home and grounds you have! What part of Cali do you live in? My son married a girl who grew up in Agoura Hills. Your land looks flatter there. I loved your message of just enjoying what you have. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hi dear Kris, This was so profound and only those who've had their lives changed in a second can comprehend. I know that after facing some huge life issues I've become much more content with the small things. Hoping all is well with you and so glad you found joy in the quiet things.
Hugs today. Noreen
