Five For Friday

Good morning!  This week has flown by and I have no idea what I have been doing?  Today I am linking up with Janna at
Denim and Dandelions   She is hosting her first linky party.  Go on over and check out the other Five For Friday posts.
October always gets me busy in my sewing room with Christmas gifts and holiday sewing.  One night I made basket liners for my daughter Erika.  She purchased one yard of ultra suede animal print.  I made three liners, and with the left over scraps, I made her a couple of drawstring bags that she can use for small gifts.   It is a good way to use up scraps, and a nice way to give a small gift.
Last night I was messing around in my sewing room and made his quilted ipad holder.
I still need to put a magnetic clasp in it.
This is my favorite Fall book.  It is an old one from quilt expert Lynette Jensen.  I love to look through the pages of this beautiful book and try to pretend that we are not experiencing triple digits again here in So. California!
One day last week I stumbled upon a blog that had these darling little crocheted cork people.  I thought they were so cute.  She called them Korkeniesse.  A Norwegian doll, using a cork as the doll body.  She had them done in every color, with little jewels in their floppy hats, complete with a crocheted Toad Stool House.  She had bunches of them and  I thought they were so cute.  I sat down and attempted one yesterday.  I say attempted because I got frustrated with the pattern, and wound up sort of winging it.   I will look for the link, and post it later if any of you master crocheters want to see it.  Then maybe you can try the pattern, and I will attempt it again.  Here is my little Korkenisse elf.
My last photo for Five For Friday is my Autumn Wagon on the front porch.
I haven't been posting regularly this week because I have discovered WORDS FOR FRIENDS!!!!  I haven't left the house without my ipad once!!!!   That's why I had to make a cute bag!!!
Happy Weekend everyone.  Go check out Janna's Linky party!

Look at all the fun you have been having this week..... Do I have to spell out the feeling about those corksters? Too cute and fun. But, you will have to explain this whole words for friends thing to me. Did I miss something? Does it have to do with you Ipad and great new case? Off to see me some pumpkins for my wagon as the mums didn't make it while we were gone.

You have been busy sewing this week. I love the idea of the gift bags. Will have to make up a few. I use words on my iphone. It is fun. Love the wagon filled with fall decor, how do things survive the heat? I have already thrown out the 2 pumpkins that were carved 3 weeks ago, they were starting to rot and mold:( I have more to carve now that we are cooling down again.

Love the gifts bags.. you're so good to your daughter! I also wish I had a wagon for the back porch by the door, I just have one lonely pumpkin so far.

I've heard of "Words with Friends".. how do you get started. I am rather addicted to Facebook Scrabble, if you play that.. we should get a game going.

Have a *great* weekend!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh I love the wagon with all the fall goodies. At least it has cooled down some. I too long to live in a place with some seasons. That book looks like something I would very much enjoy.
