Heading Up The Mountain

Good morning.  It is a beautiful rainy Saturday morning here in Southern California.  We are leaving in a minute to head up to THE BEAR!  Big Bear, that is.
The above picture was taken last year at Thanksgiving.  We had taken the motor home to the cabin because our family is a big one, and everyone was gathering at the cabin for the holiday weekend.  I was worried about snow, and Mr. G kept saying..." It isn't going to snow Bunny!"  Well it did!  And we got snowed in! We couldn't get the motor home out!  He went back a couple weeks later and got it out once some of the snow had melted.  Today we are going up to my Mom's place with our oldest daughter Gennifer and her family.  And this time, I am praying for snow, so that our granddaughters  can see it.  Either way, snow or no snow, we are looking forward to having some fun up in the mountains.  We always do!  I have some friends who run a B & B up there, and am hoping to pop in to say  hello to them too.  Oh, and we always have to drop in at The Copper Q to see what's cooking.  Also, there is a new bakery in town that I must check out.  And then, of course we have to eat at Blanca & Pierre's!!  Oh gosh, we better get going, there is so much to do!!!
See you a couple of days.
XO  Kris

Hmmmmm, fun! Sounds like lots of good family time! Can I come? As an only child - with an only child of my own, we are terribly starved for "family" around here. I notice my daughter gravitates to people with big families. We are a small family of just three! Have a wonderful time! Annette

How fun Kris, we go to Big Bear quite often, we were up there 3 weeks ago, took our new motorcycle. The weather was beautiful. I bet you are enjoying snow though based on the weather down here. Looking forward to meeting you when we have our little girls out get together next month....

Smiles,

Debbie

Hi Kris,
When I was a kid, my family always camped during Thanksgiving week. We weathered rain, snow & some beautiful weather too. My folks had a fifth wheel, so we were always warm (or cool) and dry. Some of my favorite memories are from those times!

Enjoy your trip!

One of these days I'm going to stop being jealous of you and just learn to be happy for you. That's not today! Have a great time!

What fun for you. I know that you will have a great time... snow or no snow. Since our accident, I am still a bit nervous to think of driving in snow.... but since 3 of our kids live in a snowy area I guess I'd better get over it.

I am so glad that you were not hit by the texting driver the other day. How scary.... and you didn't even get a chance to tell me about it. Well, we will have to get together when we can really visit. Thanks for coming Tuesday. It meant a lot to me that you would come. I got your card yesterday. Thank you dear.

Have a great time and then tell us all about it. Hugs, Lura

Our son just got home and he said there was snow but that it didn't stay. But it was cold up there. LAst year he went up too and got snowed in for 3 days and said it was a massive storm.. Have a fun trip up there...and the new bakery is wonderful ... :) I stopped in the yarn shop while we were up there and she was unusually nice. :) talk to you when you return...toodles...

Oh hope you are having a wonderful time Kris and that you got some snow! We went to Big Bear for 20+ years when hubby's parents had a cabin there. A wonderful place without a doubt! Hugs, Maryjane
