Holiday Happenings

Today is the boutique.  I only had a  couple days to prepare.  So considering that, I was pleased with how much I got done.  I dropped off my wares last night at the salon, and before I had it all set down, I sold the red cowl and bloomie, and received a special order for a solid black long cowl and bloomie.

I will be better prepared for the next boutique.
Yesterday I got to go watch my granddaughter Hannah at her Christmas dance program.  What a cutie!!
Her Mommy brought her some pretty pink roses.  She was so cute when she got them.
Oh my gosh, these kids are growing up so fast!!!
Eggs!  We've got tons of them!!  My girls are delivering about 2 1/2 dozen a week!
I got a fun package in the mail yesterday from my dear friend Ally, in New Jersey.  She is in my BBK cooking group, and she and I have shared a very close friendship for many years.
She always sends me some of her home made peanut brittle, and a jar of her home made jam.  She is an incredible photographer, and she also sent me a book of her summer flower photos.
Among several other goodies!
We have a busy weekend ahead!  Hope to get my Christmas cards in the mail tomorrow.  We also have a Christmas party to attend.  And of course, a lot of shopping to do!  I don't like having so much left to do with so little time left to do it in, but I do love being out and about the weekend before Christmas, when it is nice and cold, and it feels like "Christmas" outside.  Whatever you have on your list of things to do this weekend, I hope you are taking time out to enjoy the Reason For The Season.
And do something nice for someone when you are out and about.  Like, pay for the car behind you at the Starbuck's drive thru window.  Or bring in your neighbor's trash cans for them.  Or offer to pick up some groceries for a shut in.  It doesn't have to be big or expensive.  Just do it!
XO  Kris

I've seen other "bloomie" style bits here and there, but yours are by far the nicest--they actually look like flowers!!!!!
Every year I try not to have to race to the finish for Christmas, but every year it does not work....I'm hoping on Sunday to just relax, drink cocoa, and wrap presents.

I just can't keep up. I so glad to see your cowls are going well. What fun to watch a little dancer. But, I just can't keep up. Then packages of treats arriving from across the country. I just can't keep up. So many new eggs, unbelievable. I just can't keep up. But, I sure will try. Have a great weekend, sweetie.

Hello Kris,

I thoroughly enjoy your blog and I am also a new crocheter. Your cowls are lovely and I'm wondering what the secret is to crocheting in the round? Assuming you create a fairly long chain and then join with a slip stitch, how do you join without twisting the chain? I think my chain is straight but it always turns. it is so frustrating!

Your granddaughter is so precious. What a dear smile, while receiving her flowers. :o) They grow way too fast!
What generous girls you have!! Our last girl died just recently and we are fixing up the old chicken pen for our next batch in the spring. Aren't they so sweet? Our neighbor's chicken comes into our yard and has made friends with our dog! Can you believe that?
Have a wonderful week. hugs. Trish

I thought my Christmas cards would come in the mail today...but they didn't! AAhhh! I'm getting anxious! Your bloomies look so pretty in your basket. Question- is the red basket dish in your picture a bread basket? I use to have the same one in blue and you could even put it in the oven. It broke.
Love your reminder about enjoying the season. Have a wonderful weekend Kris!

Great ideas for giving! The debit machine was down at Circle K yesterday and they were only taking cash and no one in line buying their coffee had any cash so I bought coffee for the whole line. Funny how spending only $10 on random strangers makes you feel pretty good.

Hi Kris, Love your cowls and bloomies. I think I would love to order one. Maybe after Christmas when you aren't so busy. I like being out seeing all the hustle and bustle just before Christmas also. Reminds me of my favorite christmas song, "Silver Bells". Yes, doing small things can make such a differnce in peoples lifes. Thanks for the reminder. Have a very Merry Christmas. Little Granddaughter in pink is such a cutie!
