Good News & Bad News

The good news is, this little boy is feeling MUCH better now!
Poor guy was down all week with a terrible flu bug.  Today he was much improved.  He missed school all week.  I let him stay in his jammies all day and just play with his trains.  So good to see him feeling better.
The bad news is, Gamma doesn't feel good now.  I started to feel crummy yesterday.  I had chills and sore throat, and thought for sure I was going down.  But it seems to be more cold like than flu like, which is good.
Today when I went out to get the mail I noticed that my roses were all blooming.  I had to bring a few in to brighten my spirits.
I love to have fresh cut roses in the house this time of year.   From March to November I get to enjoy them.
The heavier layers of the winter months are getting put away, as the fresh face of Spring is revealed.
I made a new curtain for behind my washer and dryer in the laundry room.  It hides the unsightly plumbing lines that I don't want to see.  I decided to introduce a new color to this room.  Buttercup yellow.
Remember the pot rack I painted a few weeks ago?  I am thinking of hanging it right here above this coffee/tea station I have in my laundry room right off the kitchen.
We have a Keurig Coffee machine that gets a lot of use.  Even though I brew fresh coffee every morning, we use this for coffee on the go, as well as hot tea and hot chocolate.  Almost every afternoon about 3, I make myself one cup of coffee with the Keurig.
The pretty wooden box holds a variety of teas and cocoas, and the bowl holds the K Cups for the machine.
My good friend Armenia gave me this pretty box many years ago.  I had it in my bedroom until recently, when I thought it would work great for this purpose.
On the top there is a perfect place to hold Geeps vanilla flavoring for his coffee, and honey for our tea, and some flavored powder creamer.  ( I always use half & half, no sugar...no flavorings )
I am holding the pot rack with a few mugs on it to see if  I like it in here.
I am really anxious to get these cupboards painted now.  Hopefully I will be able to do that before Easter.
Yes, I think Spring is on the way.
I was supposed to spend tomorrow with some friends for a day of lunch and shopping.  I knew I wasn't going to be feeling up to it.  I think it will be a pretty low key weekend compared to the past few we have had.  What are you doing this weekend?
XO  Stuffy Kris

Hi Kris!
I'm sorry you're not feeling well, but happy that Noah is better! Your laundry room is cute. I think the pot rack may look really good in there over the coffee station. Get some rest this weekend and feel better! :)

Sorry to hear you may be getting the bug:( I think this season has been a rough one on many. That flu is kicking butt all over the US. Love the bowl that your coffee is in, it looks vintage and matches you mugs perfectly. Did you decide on a paint color for the cabinets? My vote is for Martha Stewarts "Cornbread Yellow." Get well soon:)

Hey Kris, So sorry you got the cold; I hope it passes quickly. I do want to share something both my daughters use, it is from Whole Foods, and I tried it when we were traveling because I felt like I was fighting the family cold. It is called Propolis Echinacea throat spray, comes in a small 1 oz. bottle which runs around $15.00 but girl it works, tastes awful but it does work. If you have a Whole Foods near you, you might want to pick some up-with 9 grands we've figured out what works. Remember it tastes awful but your throat feels 100% better.
Hugs today.

Darn Kris, sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Glad little Noah is doing better. Guess grandma should not have hugged and kissed him. lol! I think the pop of yellow is cute for your laundry. Hubby finishede hanging the beadboard on the wall today. We went and picked up my vintage mirror and got some wood to make a shelf at the top of beadboard. you deserve a break. Get lots of rest and don't forget the aspirin and chicken soup. Darn, you're sick, who will make it?
Hugs,
Jann

I'm so glad Noah is better, but I hate to hear that you are sick. The last couple of times I escaped getting sick when Kevin and Boyd were, but this last time it hit me hard. I hope you start feeling better real soon! Love your laundry room SO much. Everything looks adorable and I love the coffee on the run. You have the best house! xoxo.

I really like your laundry room and the butter cup yellow color. Never thought of hanging a curtain behind the machines to cover up the ugly stuff ! Creative. Also your front door looks just like the one in our old house--and the same color of paint!
