Where There Is Dirt.......

Where there is dirt......there will be boys.  Or boy, as the case may be.  We had a delivery yesterday.  It came in a big truck.  My grandson Noah was so excited to watch.
I wish I had video going so you could hear his voice as that truck was raising up higher and higher.
We ordered this soil for my garden boxes, and some other areas we need to fill in with some clean dirt.  While I got busy shoveling it into my garden boxes and containers, Noah had other plans.  Before I could blink, he was at the top of the mountain!
 Going "Vroom-Vroom" with his trucks.
And shoveling it into his buckets and dump trucks to transport from pile to pile.
He was just as happy as can be, playing in the dirt!
I had to pause several times, just to watch him.
We took a nice break underneath the shade of an orange tree, with a delicious PB&J with Cheetoes.  Yum!
Then back to the dirt until there wasn't a spot on him without it.
I got a lot of work done while Noah played in the dirt pile.  When it was time to go in, I stripped him on the back porch and put him straight into the tub.
After his bath, I did something I NEVER do.  Noah was watching the telly back in the play room, and asked me to lay down with him.  I did, and the next thing I knew, Eri was home to pick him up!  I fell sound asleep!  He didn't.  He was just watching TV.
It looks like another beautiful day here.  More work outside for me.  More getting dirty for Noah.  I leave you with a few pictures that were taken on Sunday.  My brother and sister in law and nephew all came out to take me to breakfast for my birthday, and they brought our Nana out too.  I called Gennifer to see if she and Jake wanted to bring the girls over to see Nana. I wish Erika had been in town to bring Noah to see her too.  When the girls came in, Nana just lit up!!  Oh how I enjoyed watching her with her great-great-granddaughters!!!!!   Nana will be 98 this August.  She is treasured by all!

Go out and make it a GREAT day!!!
XO  Kris

Boys and dirt. When we were getting our pool my son would stand at our door and just watch them...as soon as they were done for the day he would be out there playing in the dirt/mud.

It looks like Noah had a ball playing in the dirt. Good for you for taking a nap - sometimes we need one. The pictures of the girls with Nana are just so adorable!!

Hi Kris!! I love PB&Js with Cheetos! But I usually get the puffy ones. Noah looks so excited over that truck. I wish you had it on video too! Sweet pics of Nana and the girls.

I suspect you had fun playing in that dirt too! Ah, little boys and dirt--I remember it well. What a joy to have your granddaughters and your Nanna to visit.

Best,
Bonnie

One of the best things about grandmas caring for grandkids is the good old fashioned fun they have. Boys, dirt and dump trucks...it doesn't get much better than that. Andrew would have raced him to the top! Love the pictures of your sweet girls with their great, great grandma. She looks like an amazing woman. Thank you for your prayers sweet friend. Patty

I remember the days of dirt piles and my boy, now he is big and rides his dirt bike over them. Can't wait to see your garden boxes filled with dirt and plants.

What awesome pics of Nana and the girls...her face is just so lit up...just precious! And, I really like that close up of Noah in the pile pushing his truck...I think that is frame worthy...that way you can always be reminded how much he enjoyed his time in the dirt pile!

How blessed to have your Nana at 97. I love old people. They are just what they are and done pretending and are so very wise and wonderful. Wow that is lots of dirt. You go girl. You work harder than anyone I know. My chicks are in the coop for the day. Dean busted out the door last night. God bless him his is the man and I love him for it. He knew I really wanted to put them in there.

Oh Kris I can just imagine how much Noah loved that dirt pile! My grands would have loved it too. Nothing like a good old pile of dirt, trucks, and little boys. Your Grandmother looks great and what wonderful pics of her with the girls. Just precious. I love that you dozed off and Noah just watched on, haha. Sounds like me with Jeffie sometimes back when I watched him all the time. I'd sit down in the late afternoon with him and his little shows and pretty soon I'd be out. "Grandma" he would say when I woke up, "You ALWAYS fall asleep." haha Good memories. Don't work too hard! ; )
