Just Me & The Olympics

Hello and happy Sunday!  I am here at home, and enjoying a very peaceful day!!  My husband and son went up to Big Bear to fish.  My oldest daughter and her family are vacationing in San Diego.  My middle daughter and Noah are at a friends house for the afternoon and a BBQ tonight.  Geeps said. "Why don't you come with us to the lake?"  I said, "No, you and Drew will have a fun day together, and it will be nice just the two of you."  And inside I am screaming with delight at the prospect of having the whole day, the whole pool, the whole t.v., all to my self!!  I love having my family around and doing things together.  But I so rarely get a chance to be home alone that I am perfectly happy to have this day by myself!
I have the Olympics on.  The radio on outside and I am going back and forth between the family room and the pool.  Are you watching the Olympics?  I love it!!
Before Greg left today, he was doing some updating on my laptop and he uploaded these photos for me that Gennifer took while we were up at the lake a few weeks ago.  Sadly, our daughter Erika and Noah  had already gone home, so they are not in them. But oh what a perfect Christmas photo it would have been.   Gennifer set her tripod up at the end of the dock and we did several different shots.  This one is my favorite.
I liked this one too.
And this....
And this....
Maybe I can photo shop Erika and Noah into one of these?    Which is your favorite?
Back to the pool as soon as US wins in Water Polo!!
XO  Kris

Hi Kris, Love the photos-you all look like you were having so much fun. I too had a day alone today and loved it; I spent most of the day sewing the quilt top but still have borders to do. Then I started a new novel I'm previewing and also checked blogland a bit.
Tomorrow hubby is going golfing again so I know I'll be sewing too and also having a friend over so the pups can play.
Have a great evening, we are watching the O's right now. Love them.

Yes, I love those rare days alone in my home, and the extra bonus would be time to watch the Olympics. I enjoy every moment I have when I watch them. Great post!

All four photos are wonderful , Kris. It is a tie between the first(for fun) and the last (for a good close up shot) I'm usually disappointed when I can't get a good, all inclusive, family shot for my Christmas cards...last year was a happy exception.

I enjoyed watching gymnastics last evening ..they are all such amazing athletes!

Kris, you have the most wonderful family! That would make a great xmas card.. you should try the PhotoShop thing, or just recreate the photo when you're all together. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Awesome picsand I haven't been fishing since I was a child. Was anyone scared by the water? I would have been so nervous.

I vote for the third picture, Kris, but having everyone in it is important so perhaps you can get everyone together for another celebration and get a photo just right for Christmas. =)
Glad you enjoyed your time alone...and I am trying to watch snatches of the Olympics, too. Very exciting!

I can see the "proud parent smile" beaming from you {and your hubby} in each photo.

Hi Kris,

Can you email me where you got your pattern for your "bubble" blanket that you crocheted recently? I've seen patterns online, but they all seem to have a single crochet stitch between the row of bubbles and it doesn't look like yours does.

Thanks,

Carol

Great photos, Kris! It looks like heaven up there at the lake. I've been to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear once and found that area to be simply gorgeous.

I like the one of all of you seated and turned back to look. I've been home alone this week, too. My house is so clean! But not for long...he returns tomorrow night.
I let Chelsea bark to scare away whatever...lots of critters lurking in the woods! xo, Cheryl
