Last night my husband called down the hall to me to come outside, quick. I went running outside to see what was up. He said, "look at this night sky!" It was beautiful! We stood there in awe, just staring at it. He had grabbed both of our cameras, and started clicking. It was really something to see!
We walked to the very back of our property to see if we could see it better if we got beyond the trees.
As is often the case, the photos don't do justice to what it actually looked like! We have returned to triple digits again. And muggy!!! Last night our oldest daughter Gennifer and her girls were and when we were walking them outside to say goodbye, big fat rain drops began to fall. I suddenly remembered that I had clothes on the line. So I went running out there, and Greg and Erika followed me, as we removed all the clothes as quickly as we could. Laughing at the sight of us!
In good news today, my son has decided that he will wait on moving to Nashville, until his girlfriend Diana graduates, and she can go with him. I cannot tell you how relieved I am. Of course the thought of him moving so far away is still very unsettling to me. But having some more planning and someone he loves to go with him, does this Mama's heart good.
Have a beautiful day!
XO Kris

Kris the photos are beautiful really amazing; love the colors:)
What a pretty sunset Kris. Sorry to hear about the muggy and triple digit weather. Sounds like good news on your son's plans. Take care. Heather
I don't even have words for that sky. Wow!!!!!! Well...I guess I came up with one :)
I am just so relieved that Drew is waiting. I think when they leave together you will feel so much better about it. Happy for you!
Beautiful pictures...it was a really pretty sunset last night here too. Glad to hear you can keep Drew close for a bit...it's so hard to let them go...enjoy your day...it's a cooker out there!!
Gotta love ending a day with a great colorful sky. It looks like Fall is right around the corner....
These photos are amazing!
I am so glad he is waiting. I know that will settle your heart a little to know she is with him. My girls told me the sky was awesome last night.
Kris, I am so happy for you-such good news about your son staying put; alot can happen in a year to change ones plans. Love your sunset-so breath-taking. Have a joy filled evening my friend.
Hugs, Noreen
First of all the pictures are just gorgeous! You really got some good shots. But your right, it is hot and muggy and I am a little tired of it.
But the good news on Drew is soooo good I am sure you are dancing a little jig. And who knows...LOTS of things could happen in a year. But even if they do go, such a much better "feel" of someone going with him. How relieved you must be. Soo happy for you!
Woohooo! So excited for you that Drew is going to wait a bit before moving!! I bet his girlfriend is relieved too!
Beautiful sky...especially with the plam trees framing the picture!
Kris.. that's great that hubby saw that and called you out and that he had the forethought to grab the cameras! Those are GORGEOUS photos!!
Now.. I am so happy for you and relieved that Drew has changed plans! When does he GF graduate? Whatever the reason, I'm so very happy that he isn't leaving when he planned to! HUGSSSSS!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Beautiful pics, Im sure they are so much better in person. Congrats on keeping your son around a little longer:)
I did the same thing (run outside) to take photos. My neighbor was out washing his car & I thought 1. He must think I'm crazy and 2. How is he not staring at this beautiful sight!! My photos didn't do it justice either.
Beautiful views and wonderful news about you son:). I am celebrating with you!

Lovely sunset, and what good news for you about your son. Who knows maybe he will be changing his mind completely and not go at all, but if he does at least he will be not be alone and with someone he knows and loves him. For now you can feel less stressed and relax.....
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
Oh Kris that is such a wonderful sunset. We get some beauties here, especially in Autumn...
That is good news about your son staying put for now. It is just horrible when our children move away, I hated it...One of my girls lives in Sydney over 2,000kms (1250 miles) from me. She left home at 18 to pursue her dreams.
Just as a matter of interest we live near a pretty little country town named Quorn. Population of 1068. My other two adult daughters live there, it is about 15-20 minutes drive from here...I dont know if you have heard of Jedd Hughes, well he was reared in Quorn and is now a country singer and lives in Nashville. I believe he has teamed up with Sarah Buxton and they are known as Buxton Hughes :) You can find his story and singing on you tube if you are interested...
I think you are going to be one very proud mom of your boy one day. (I know you already are). I hope he gets to live out his dreams just like Jedd has :) And at least he wont be alone if Diana goes with him...
Hope you are feeling better now :)

Beautiful pictures Kris ! Glad your son is holding off for a while ! I am sure it was a big relief to you ! Have a great weekend !
Beautiful pictures! Last night about 9 p.m. we had rain/thunder and lighting. We're not use to having this kind of weather in Southern California, so its kind of cool :)
I have never seen sunsets more beautiful than that...wowser!
Gorgeous skies! And, great news about Drew. I know that eases your mind a bit, and I'm happy that you are feeling a little better about things. hugs!

Kris, I've been out of pocket for a while and am just now getting around to catching up on my blogs.
So, so happy for you that your son has decided to wait a while before moving. A few more precious moments with him will be so nice. He sounds like a great guy and I'm sure he will be fine. But Mama's heart will still be aching when he leaves. It's so hard to give our kids their wings.
I loved all the photos of the lake and the blue skies and green trees. I would love to have a cabin somewhere in the mountains around here. I love the mountains and I think a week or even a weekend would do me good.
Have a great week, Kris.
Hugs,
Sharon
