Fall Is In The Air

Although we are still having some high temperatures here where I live, I couldn't resist dragging out my Fall bins from the 150 degree garage the other day.  I have been slowly rummaging through them, and creating the season that I love in our home.  This morning, when I got up, I was struck at how pretty the sun was filtering through the window in the living room.  I got my camera and took these pictures.
I made that pumpkin wall hanging a few of years ago, and I love taking it out every year.  I put it in a different place this time, and like the way it looks just casually draped across the ottoman, and tucked in with that basket of Fall gourds.
The sun coming in the front picture window was so pretty.
I put away all of my summer tea towels, and brought my fall towels out.  I washed them and hung them out on the line to dry.  I have a thing for tea towels.  I love them!
I thought they looked so pretty snapping in the wind like Fall flags.
I have changed the things I usually set up for Fall this year.  I am liking the changes.  The barn red chest in the family room was cleared of all previous things, and now has some Fall pumpkins on top.  I have not put the lights up yet, but it is still pretty.
This is the table in the family room.  I used this large basket to hold the lamp, and then I just began to fill it with Fall things.  It is set atop a wooden bench to elevate it, that has been draped with a Fall table topper I made when I first began to quilt many years ago.
The table is layered with another Fall quilt.  I use quilts all over the house, year around. The star quilt behind the table was a gift from my best friend Jae.
My kitchen table is set for Fall.
I still have lots to do.  I will do another post when I am done.  I always look forward to doing my front porch.  But it is too hot, and too soon for that just yet.
On another note, have you seen, or tried these pumpkin waffles from Eggo?
Oh my gosh!!!  They are divine!!!!   Scrumptious!  I am going to clear out my freezer and stock it with these limited edition yummies!!!!  I bought them at Walmart.  Go get some and try them.  You will flip!!
We are cooling off a tad bit.  Only in the mid nineties this week, but expecting triple digits over the weekend again.  Gah!!!!
I have Knitty Biddies today.  Better scoot.  I am making some pumpkin apple muffins to bring and share.
Have a great day!
XO  Kris

Now I can see why my youngest sister wants to up stix and move to Chicago!!She loves the American Way since she spent a year over there as part of a teacher/school exchange, and neither wonder. You folks have such an exuberance for everything.....it positively puts us in the shade over here(pardon the pun)but also highly infectious. I'll look for autumn articles just as soon as I've let go of Summer, which I think will be any day now!I love the pic of your tea towels flying in the wind. Thanks for an exceptionally upbeat post, Kris. Just what I needed. x

Fall is my favorite season, Kris. I loved seeing the light shine into your living room with all the autumn decorations ready to be sorted out. I am headed to CA for a quick weekend trip, and my oldest sister warned me it is supposed to be hot in the Bay area too....which does not help either of us feel cooler, but at least we can be sympathetic with each other :)

Everything looks so pretty, and I love all the quilts. I quilted two pillow shams yesterday and can't wait to get at the king size quilt I need to make. I have been on a pumpkin pancake kick. Love anything that tastes like pumpkin pie. Can't wait to see your porch:)

Fall looks so pretty in your house. I think next week I will pull out the totes and see how I can make it seem like autumn inspite of the weather!

I'm ready to get out my fall decor also...I can at least pretend we are having a change of seasons. It won't actually cool off for another month.

The pumpkin waffles look delish. I'm going to have to see if I can find them over here.

Okay...since you started decorating it's "game on!" It's hard to do in this heat though isn't it? We are finally going to see some 80's, practically socks weather!
Your house looks cozy and inviting, love all your decorations : )

Hi Kris - it is hard to think about Fall when it is still in the 100's! Our mornings and evenings in Phoenix are finally cooling off - in the 80's. I love your Fall decorations. Especially your Pumpkin Wall hanging quilt. I love when Fall things come out in stores and football games start-it means the end is only about 2 months away for our hot weather! Enjoy the weekend!!

I have not seen those waffles here! We do not have a Walmart in NYC ...not one! I wonder if Traget will get them?

I love all your autumn decorations. I usually take my stuff down from the attic in October and now for each holiday I will ahve to decide what I'll keep and what I'll have to give away or toss. Sadly, I can't move it all!
