Crochet Water Bottle Cozy

Is it Thursday?  Already!  How?  It is cold and raining today.  I am still snug as a bug in bed, coffee at my side, laptop, and two warm dogs at my feet.  They get along fine, which is a huge relief with two male dogs.  We are working with Dusty on some of his bad habits.  He is a good dog, but he rushes through doors with 100 pounds of eager puppiness, that will knock you to your feet.  We are working on having him sit and stay, until he is asked to come through.  Also on sit and stay at the door when someone comes knocking.  Ducey is not very well behaved in this regard either.    Poor Christopher, our little friend next door.  He is scared to death of the dogs, and is only just now getting comfortable with Ducey and his excitability.  For the past few days, he is visiting through the safety of the picture window in the living room. Maybe this weekend we can help him get to know Dusty a bit.
ANDREA....I don't know how to get in touch with you.  It appears you don't have a blog.  You asked about the water bottle cozy.  Yes, I will be selling these.  I have not yet added them to my Etsy shop, nor have I relisted my Etsy shop, as it needs restocking, but I will put it up.  For a crochet cozy in color of choice, with NO adornments, it will be 25.00.  This will include a three button closure at the bottom for easy removal of bottle.  For a cozy like the one I recently showed, with three flowers and  leaves, the cost will be 40.00.
If you are interested in ordering, leave me a message on my blog.  But I will soon  have my Etsy shop up and running again.  These do keep the hot water well insulated, and prevents you from getting too hot when first filling it, as well as keeping the water hot longer through the night.
I had an order for a earwarmer with a bow on it instead of a flower.  At first I was iffy on it.  But I loved the way it turned out.
It is really cute on!
One of my favorite things about January, is that the oranges on our trees begin to get very ripe and juicy!
There is nothing like freshly squeezed orange juice in the mornings!
It is very cold this morning, and there are some dark clouds blowing in.  They are saying it will be below freezing, and there will be snow on the foothills.
While in the mountains last weekend, this was how you could most often find me.  NOT a flattering photo that Greg took of me!  NO makeup, but warm with my pink earwarmer with cabbage rose!
There I am....sitting in front of the fire, yarn in hand, my readers on my nose, and more chins that Chinese phone book!!!
Sitting in that chair, right next to a roaring fire, with this at my feet.
Coming down the mountain the other day, I was snapping away with Greg's camera.  The lake was so beautiful, with sheets of ripply ice all along the edges of the water.  These were taken down by the dam.
Then it was bumper to bumper in the falling snow, driving in and out of the ominous clouds.
And then the flares that alerted the drivers to a closed highway, and diverting us to an alternate route down the hill.
Tomorrow morning I am meeting up with some friends that I met through blogging.  We have been getting together for the past  year or so, and I so enjoy these ladies.  I will be bringing my camera.
Wishing you a cozy day!
xo  Kris

Hi Kris, Reading about your post actually made me cold-might have to make some tea. It is cold here this morning but supposed to get really cold this weekend-oh joy I have dog training on Sat. I loved seeing your water bottle cozy and your ear warmer-so pretty. Also loved seeing the fire at your place. Boy does the mountain road remind me of roads going to the ski areas. Have fun with your blogging friends.
Hugs, Noreen

Oh I bet you hated to leave BB. So gorgeous. Those warmers are popular in my house too but I had to buy them for the girls. Sigh.

I think you look beautiful, don't be so hard on yourself. It looks so cozy there with the snow, of course not the ride home, I mean inside by the fire. It is hot as can be here, 84 degrees, and humid, really? This is January!
Have fun with your friends,
Meredith

I love that you post pics of yourself with no makeup. You are one gorgeous woman, but then I'm partial because I love you so. I see you're sending your cold weather my way, wish you would just keep it. Have fun at your lunch, I'm going out with bloggers next week, one is someone from Colorado that is visiting and I can't wait to meet her. Love as always, H

I am cracking up that you were brave enough to post that picture of yourself (although you don't look near as bad as I would!) with no make-up or anything. I must be too vain. Your house looks so cozy. We've had a few of those days lately too because the weather has been so rainy and cold. L-O-V-E I-T!!

Love your hot water bottle cover too. I have attempted to make at least three of these using 9 little 2-round granny squares, or just sc stitches, but none of them have turned out worth a poo. The square ones are always too big. Your adornments are just darling on there.

I love your crochet work Kris, I especially like the hot water bottle cosy, it is so pretty. Makes me want to dig out some of my wool and hooks...

The mountains look beautiful, but that ride down sounded scary! Enjoy your cozy fireside crocheting. I'm loving this cold weather, too soon it will be 108 degrees again!
My lemon tree is also full, if we lived closer I'd swap you for a bag of oranges : )

I love the line "more chins than a Chinese phone book" - you crack me up!

I thought of you while at lunch in Idaho a few weeks ago. Two ladies came into the restaurant with ear warmers with bright flowers on them... they weren't as cute as yours are but it made me smile & think of you.

Great pictures, Kris. You are doing one of my favorite things - sitting by the fire with my crochet projects. Oranges in January - can hardly imagine it.

Kris, you are too funny! Love the pic of you girl. That's the way a girl should look when she all snuggled up by a fire at home. Natural beauty for sure! I did not know that the oranges get ripe in Jan. I thought more towards Spring. How yummy! Love your new projects. You are one talented lady. Also really enjoyed your beautiful photos.
Hugs,
Jann
p.s. Have fun with your gal pals. Wish I was there!
