Valentine's

Happy Hearts Day!  We didn't do anything.  I have been feeling pretty crummy all week.  It seems that whatever I had a while ago, came back on me.  I finally went to the Dr. on Monday.  I have pretty much spent the entire week laying around in bed, watching the telly, crocheting, and snoozing.  Dusty had his, ahem....surgery last week.  He developed an infection that required several more trips to the Vet,  and multiple different medications.  A week and  a half later, and several hundred dollars, he is doing better.  He  has kept me company at the foot of my bed, while we were both feeling rotten.
I made dozens of puffed hearts.   But for the first time in my life I think, I didn't make it out to get my Valentine's.  And I had to cancel my Valentine's Lunch for The Biddies!!
Today, Gennifer and the girls came over to stock up on citrus and avocados.  It felt good to walk around in the sunshine.
These are a couple of the vintage wooden hangers that I crocheted today.
The colors are off.  I should not take photos at night!
I didn't use a pattern.  Just chain to length of hanger, or slightly less.  Then use whatever stitch you like.  The stars are from a book I have.  Fun to make, but in this sport weight yarn, they don't have enough body.
In other news, I know a lot of people that were on pins and needles waiting for that crazy ex cop to be caught.  Thankfully, that has now come to a close.  Sadly though, several lives were lost.
Sorry for the sparse posting this week.  Hopefully next week will be more blog worthy!
XO  Kris

I'm glad you are starting to feel a bit better.

I sure am ready for summer!!!!

Thanks for all the great goods today!! Especially all those fresh eggs. That saves me a trip to the farmers market saturday. I'm so plugged up right now, hoping my Nquil knocks me out soon.

XOXO

Hey Pal, so sorry you're feeling under the weather (and Dusty!jeepers, those vets have a licence to print their own money, the prices they charge, don't they?). How lucky you are to be able to pick your own avocadoes. I bought ONE last week and it was so expensive I made it last all week!!Big Bear was on our news this week and I immediately thought about you. Glad it's over now. Get better quickly.xxx

Oh Kris, sorry to hear you've been feeling bad. I have ached and felt puny and tired all week too. Thought at first it might be my arthritis, but now I am thinking bug...soo draining. Love your hangers, and boy would I ever love an avocado tree in my back yard ~ can't seem to get enough of those recently. Have a restful week-end, and feel totally better soon!

I thought about you guys when I watched the news about that guy being in Big Bear. Scary!!
I hope you're feeling well by now. I know so many people who got better and then the virus came back again.
I wish we had an avocado tree. Are yours Haas or another variety?
All your crochet makes are very purty my dear!

Oh Kris, you and I are in the same boat, so to speak. I've also been laying around crocheting and watching HGTV all week after relapsing from the crud I had a couple weeks ago. I also went to the Dr. on Monday. We should have set up our own sick bay with our hooks and yarn!! We could have chatted up a storm while happily hooking away. I hope you're on the mend finally.
Blessings,
Betsy

I've been under the weather with ya Kris. I look forward to not having to worry about feeling crummy and having to call in sick for a job. I can just take my time feeling crummy. That must be awesome! Anyway, I love your crocheted hangers. I want to look for an antique baby hanger to hang a couple of my son's baby things on - I got them out of storage and want to hang them in my upcoming craft room. Let's toast to feeling better!

I hope you are feeling better Kris...I'm glad you were able to take it easy this week...although I can't imagine you doing that as you are not one to sit around!

I am worried about you and Betsy.. did you both get a flu shot? Those have really saved me from getting that stuff every winter. One time I had 3 in a row and am sure I ended up with bronchial pneumonia. I haven't gotten badly sick since I've begun getting a flu shot each fall. Get better!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hi Kris, hope you are feeling better soon. We don't typically do anything on Valentines Day either. If it falls on a weekend, we might go to the movies or go out for an early dinner, but not through the week. Take care of yourself, Heather

Kris,
so sorry that you have not been feeling well again. That is no fun at all. So far I have been lucky to escape all of the yuckies that have been going around. Keeping my fingers crossed. Love your hearts and hangers. Eat your yummy citrus. The vitamin C will help. Glad that crazy cop thing is over too! So sad!
hugs,
Jann

Sorry to hear you have been feeling so bad, I truly hope you are starting to feel better! My girls have been battling viruses too. Terrible this year for illnesses it seems. I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend and perhaps be able to celebrate Valentines a little later.
Hugs!
