Happy-Happy-Happy

Today it was about 90 degrees.  I put my shorts and t-shirt on, and started working in the yard as soon as I dropped Noah off at school.  I was outside ALL day!  Oh how I loved it.  I must have had a gallon of tea to drink.
Here are some of the things that made me Happy-Happy-Happy today.
I "Bloomified" my wreath hanging on the mirror in the foyer.
I smile every time I walk past it.  I think this will be my seasonal wreath.  It has been fun to change it up.
I had lots of Bloomies left over after our boutique so I thought, why not.
My farm fresh eggs make me happy!  The girls are producing lots of eggs every day!
Walking out to the garden and finding my  hens dust bathing in the freshly turned soil!  For those not familiar with chickens, this is how they keep clean.  Go figure!!  It keeps them mite free, and after they burrow down into the soil, they get out and shake it all off, and fluff up those beautiful feathers of theirs.
It made me happy to fill all of my feeders today.  The birds are all singing, nesting and hungry!!
Although I haven't yet seen my Orioles, I know that they are coming soon.  So I have my Oriole sugar feeder, and orange and grape jelly feeders ready for them.
It makes me happy to see this jasmine bursting with flowers and fragrance.
It made me happy to hang all of my laundry on the line to dry today.  Sheets, towels, and blankets.  All fresh and clean!
And happy to see the blooming of this Bird Of Paradise.
And to see that my azaleas are finally coming back since having to have our house termited two years ago!
Happy to see the first Spring blooms on my Dad's roses.
It made me happy to sit out on the front lawn and watch the hummers come to the feeders.
It was late afternoon, as I sat on the cool grass, in the shaded front yard, watching the new season reveal itself in every direction I looked.  From my pretty calico kitty, Maui, lurking in the front planter...
To the trees above, that had just begun to unfurl their new leaves.
Maui wanted some lovin' and stayed close.
She is such a pretty girl!!!
It made me happy to see my little grandson's face peering out the front window, calling, "Grandma....whatcha doing?"
Believe it or not, I didn't just sit on the grass and watch the birds today!  I have been working really hard in the yards to prepare for hosting Easter here at our house.  My last chore today had me working on the side of the house where our spa is.  I turned it on, thinking how nice it would be to have a good soak in it tonight.
But, after dinner, dishes, and my shower, I was too darned tired to even climb into it.  Maybe tomorrow.
Even though the same changes take place here every Spring, there is something so exciting about watching everything wake up after winter.  Fresh, new and full of promise.
One more thing that made me happy-happy-happy today was finding this sweet card in the mail from my good friend Ally.
I hope you had a "HAPPY" day too!
XO  Kris

Loved, loved, loved, seeing your world of Spring! All snow and white stuff here; and cold weather. It made me feel good just to be able to look at your beautiful yard. Thanks for sharing!

Im so envious of your good weather. We had snow yesterday:( I am so ready to plant a garden and hang my clothes on the line. I enjoyed seeing spring happening around your place.

Interesting fact about how chickens clean themselves...didn't know that, haha. My azalea is gorgeous right now too...just covered. We got to about 85 and that was warm enough for me! Glad you had such a good day Kris!

Ninety degrees there, snow flurries here. Doesn't seem fair, does it. It's only 24 right now. But when summer comes, it will with a vengeance and when it reaches 90 I will be hating it. It's not the heat, it's the awful humidity that comes with it here in the midwest.

Hi Kris, what a great post! Love all your bird feeders and the hummers are amazing. Your home looks so inviting, you do such a great job. So funny about the chickens, dirt to stay clean, who know!!!!!
You have been working hard, hope you are not to tired for the Jacuzzi tonight!
Oh and your flowers are so brilliant, love the jasmine and bird of Paradise.
Hi to your cutie Maui

Your post today made me smile, so much to be happy and thankful for. I am hoping to get out in my yard this weekend and plant flowers. I think we are having the last cold spell today, high 54 degrees, I will be thankful we had some cool weather by the time the 90 degree days come and stay for months.
hugs to you Kris,
Meredith

Hi Kris! Looks like Spring has just exploded around your house! Everything looks so pretty and your "happy" post is contagious! I have been working in the yard too, and am enjoying the sunshine.
Guess it's time to pull my shorts out from the back of the closet.
Have fun!

Hi Kris, Oh how busy you've been. I remember getting the yard ready in March; now we have to wait til mid-May. Although it was 70 here today and I got out to trim our Crabapple tree-it is the wrong time of year but there are so many berries dropping and they can make Hunter sick-don't want to go through that again. Hope you got into the spa today.
Hugs, Noreen

I envy you working outside all day. We're getting closer here in the midwest - well, no, it was darn cold the last two days. The color of the eggs and the cat's eyes is so beautiful. The water looks so inviting, I just want to jump right in!

Yes indeed, you sure have been putting the time in out in your yard. And, look at all the pretty things you have blooming and growing. Those hens are really earning their keep, the eggs are fantastic, ya can't get any fresher than that. I just love the fact that you can walk outside and pick an orange or the avocados. We have nothing but cold weather here and expecting rain and snow by tomorrow evening. Of course, Ohio is the area on the US map with the coldest weather front right now. The buzzards are back though and that is one sure sign that spring is near. Isn't that just our luck, nasty old buzzards, now how lucky can we get. But on the brighter side, the robins have been back for awhile too and they are always one of the best signs that warmer weather is coming.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)

Thank you for sharing all of the nice things that make you happy. They make me happy just reading about them. I love all of the bird feeders that you have. I think I need to get some. Your happy list makes my heart smile. I just love the pic of your darling grandson peeking out of the window.

We are back from cold Utah and glad to be back in warm weather. Our daughter said that they got 3 inches of snow there today. I am a fair weather person. I guess it is good that I live in CA.

Have a great week. If you have a minute to drop by my blog I have some good news to share.
