A Boy And His Geeps

Good morning.  We are back from the lake.  The weather was gorgeous!  We spent a lot of time on the water.  Erika and Noah came on Saturday, and shortly after they arrived, we went down to the boat.  Noah was so eager to catch a fish.  We had gotten him a new fishing pole for his birthday and this would be his first time to use it.  But first, Noah had to take us to the right spot on the lake.
Geeps got the hooks all baited up, and then the wait began.
Erika and I were nestled all snug as bugs, in the back of the boat.  I noticed an awful lot of moving around on the front of the boat.  Looking, watching, waiting.
There was a lot of reeling it in, checking the bait, recasting, and trying out a new spot.  And then....finally....a hook up!
Noah was so excited, even though it was actually caught on Geeps' fishing pole.  We put it in the bait tank to regain his strength, and then Noah let him go.
The fishing wasn't too good this weekend, but we still had a really good time.
A photo bomber!
Erika and Noah went home Sunday morning, and we spent the day with our forever friends, Ron and Sue.   They live in the desert and bring their trailer up for the month of August to escape the heat in Palm Desert.  I didn't have my camera on the boat with me, but we took some Insta Gram photos.  We wound up having to be  towed in by Lake Patrol.  Geeps thinks it is just a battery problem.  Hopefully after replacing the battery, we will be on the lake again next weekend.
Have a good week!
XO  Kris

Sounds like a fun weekend. Noah looks so proud of his catch. Hope it's just the battery on your boat and nothing serious. Take care, Heather

What a fun time for Geeps and Noah.. men have a special bond with their grandsons. Dayle absolutely dotes on our 2 youngest ones. I hope the battery is the issue as that is easy to fix. We are getting ready for our Waldo Lake trip in a week or so! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Geeps is a wonderful Grandfather, I think all of your little ones feel they have a very special bond with him and that is the way it is supposed to be.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

What a fun weekend all but the tow in. Lol. I love to fish and your pics made me feel like I was right there bobbing on the water.

Kris, you need to grab a pole and show the guys how to catch fish, lol. My husband use to take the girls fishing for blue gills and he said he spent more time baiting hooks and untangling lines than catching anything, but the girls loved it and were thrilled when they caught their first one. It wasn't about the fish though, it was about all those happy days with the kids, making wonderful memories.

It looks like Noah and Gerps are best buddies...just as it should be with a boy and his Grandpa.
Your lake reminds me of ours. So beautiful. We had boat problems last time we were out with our friends. It's turned into a $1,500 part. So glad it's not our boat. :-) Hopefully yours is just the battery and you'll be off again, motoring into the beautiful blue waters.
Blessings,
Betsy

What a wonderful weekend! I LOVE the picture of Greg and Noah with the fish, reminds me of that Trace Adkins song, "Just Fishin'". Making all of those great memories with your kids and grand-kids....priceless!

Fingers crossed it was just the battery. Glad you got a quick tow, even if it did feel like hours. Enjoy the week and then head back up for sure.
