Lunch With Friends

Good Morning.  I am sure enjoying these cooler days here in my neck of the woods.  Yesterday I went to my friend Elaine's house for lunch, where a few of our other friends, and their kids/grandkids gathered for a day of play and fun.  Elaine had set up a slip n slide for the kiddos, and got each of them a water blaster toy.

That is my grandson Noah, wasting no time in getting wet.  The kids all played so beautifully together.  Not a single scuffle among them all day.
We had a delicious lunch of taco salad and fresh fruit that Elaine made.  And the kids had hot dogs and fruit and chips.
I guess I was too busy eating to get a photo of our lunch, but I did get a photo of the beautiful dessert that Shelly made.  Cherry Cheesecake!  Oh my!!!
Those Oreos you see in the background, my grandson Noah insisted on buying when we stopped at the store for chips on the way out.   They turned out to be very popular with the kiddos!
Elaine and her family live in the prettiest vintage home, on a quiet street.  They bought it from her husband's grandparents, and it is filled with vintage charm!  The Americana feel greets you as you enter.
She has beautiful English Style gardens that blend both flowers and veggies.  Vines that ramble hither and yon.

With surprises peeking out of the foliage among a pleasing canvas of color that is contained within the charming brick planters in her yard.  Like this pumpkin lying a little sling to help support the growing weight.
She grows those beautiful Cinderella Pumpkins too.  She has promised me seeds for my garden next year.
After lunch, the kids found  their way back outside for more playing on the swing and in the water.
It was a perfect day!  Thank you so much Elaine, for having us all over!!!!  My house next time!  I sure do wish I could join all of them tomorrow, along with another friend of ours Debbie, for a day of thrifting and fun.  Next time.
One last shot from the day. Shelly gifted me with this darling set of Rooster measuring cups!!!!!
They sure fit into my country kitchen, with all of my feathered fowl!  In fact, I am using one of them for my creamer this morning as I enjoy my coffee!  LOVE them!
See you tomorrow for a garden post.
XO  Kris

So glad you had such a lovely time and shared it with us, Kris :) Elaine's garden and home make me feel welcome and at home, too! The measuring cups are really neat...and bring me good memories of warm summer days on the poultry farms where I grew up.
Thanks for posting!

Your day sounds like it was chock full of fun times and love. I've never seen a pumpkin sling before, that was interesting.
The house looks beautiful. I love vintage but my Hubby sees "old" and lots of work! :-)
Thank you for taking us along.
Blessings,
Betsy
