The pumpkins that I grew this summer, are mounded up in a wagon by my front door for a Fall greeting.
The corn stalks that grew in my garden this summer were formed tepee style in the front planter with more pumpkins around the base.
The planter is looking very sparse right now. I am in the process of changing it. I have removed several plants, and pruned everything way back. I still have Iris' to divide.
The front porch is is all ready for Halloween.
I don't usually do much for Halloween. Especially since my kids have been grown. But having small grandkids makes it fun to have a few things out. Like a Dancing Frankie Baby, that sings The Monster Mash, with eyes that light up.
And a blow up Shrekenstein.
The Great Pumpkin Light will go up in the next week or two. Always something we look forward to.
The back patio got a little bit of Fall too.
Oopsie, the laundry had not been taken off the line yet when I took this picture. This is the time of year that we really live out here on the patio. The summer was way too hot to enjoy this space.
I always love to take out my Fall quilted table toppers, quilts, and runners. Most of which were made many years ago. But I still love them.
The Ghost Quilt is hung in the entry way. You can see the reflection of it in this shot of the entry way mirror.
The table runner on the table above was one of the first I made. It has many mistakes, but I still love it.
Here is the log cabin ghost.
I hang these small quilts with straight pins. They don't harm the wall, and you can't even see the hole when you take the quilt down.
The table topper in the family room was made probably about 14 years ago, when I first began to quilt. It had a funky primitive turkey on it, and I always hated that ugly turkey. So I ripped that applique turkey off last year, and added a couple of simple pumpkins to it.
I dropped my new candle!!! Those big candles are expensive too! Darn it!
The Halloween Cat, is a pattern that is called Button Ups. There is a larger quilt that serves as the backdrop for each monthly quilt that is added on top. It buttons onto the top of the background quilt.
The braided rug I bought in Big Bear about 10 years or so ago. I love it. I have had to resew it in a couple of spots, and it washes up nicely. I love the vibrant fall colors.
The kitchen doesn't get too many changes. A Williraye or two, a flickering lamp, a fabric basket I made, and lots of pops of red. The door to the laundry room is sporting the wall hanging I quilted just a month or so ago.
A Fall banner hangs in the laundry room.
The barn red chest is topped with both ceramic and real pumpkins.
The living room gets a bit of Fall festivity too.
See if you can spot Dusty in this next shot?
I always like to keep a basket or something on this ottoman. Ducey just loves to sprawl out here, and I am forever removing white dog hair!
In the following days, I still have some Fall things I want to do. On Sunday, we are going out to the country to get a giant pumpkin! And tomorrow is my dear Nana's service. I will be back early in the week.
As always, thanks for stopping by, and thank you for all of your kind words, and stories. I appreciate them all, and each one of you too!!
XO Kris

Good luck tomorrow, I am sure there will be some tears but there will be lots of love and that is what is important.

Oh, I forgot to say, I had a really hard time reading the black text on the dark brown background. Not sure if anyone else had problems with it, but wanted to let you know. Love the apples on the sides!

Ah, yes...I love seeing all the fall decorations coming out! Yay! We're getting rain and lower temps too. Can't wait to have my hot tea on the porch in the morning! It's so nice and cool. Hang in there this weekend!
Wow girl you have been busy. You are all decorated up. How long do the pumpkins last with your warmer temps?
I love all of your fall decor but especially the pumpkins you grew this summer. I enjoyed reading about the kids choosing their pumpkin and carving their names in them.
Praying strength for you and your family tomorrow.
It all looks soo nice Kris! So many wonderful quilts you've made over the years. I am soo behind, haha. I am thinking about taking a 3 session class during Oct. to make just a stunning Christmas quilt. Haven't made up my mind 100% but I honestly think it would be fun.
I will be thinking of you all tomorrow, and pray everything goes smoothly, and your hearts might be comforted with memories of your sweet Nana.
HUGS!!
So pretty! Love it all! I love the new layout too!
It looks beautiful Kris. I love your pumpkin harvest. You had quite a bounty. I will be thinking of you tomorrow dear friend.
Your house looks fall-beautiful!
Kris, your front porch wagon is TOO cute! Your house is looking very cozy for the cooler weather. Love your barn red chest with all the real and faux pumpkins, and especially that pretty piece of artwork!
Take care, my friend!

Love all of your warm, cozy, Autumn decor! It all looks so welcoming. Have thought of you many times during the day, today as you celebrated your precious Nana's life. Hope all went well and you are now relaxing.
Hugs,

I just love your home. Fall is by far my favorite season too. Now that we are home from vaca, it's time to get started decorating here too.
Holy Halloween, Batman!!!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
WOW! I'm so glad you decorated a "little bit", lol. Such fun to get it all out but what work you put into decorating. I always loved to decorate, but my kids are grown too and my grandson is way too little yet to appreciate the seasons. My favorite holiday was always Christmas but over the years it became less important to me. I have been trying to focus more on the true meaning but when you have little ones you can't help but do more. I hope the service for your Nana is a wonderful gathering to celebrate her life here on earth. I am sure there will be many nice things people will tell you, many things that you might not have known.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
I love Fall decorating. You made your home look so warm and cozy.
My goodness! Your "little bit" puts my meager efforts to decorate to shame for sure. Your home is absolutely beautiful and I would love of curl up on your couch with my knitting and visit with you.
I'm late to the Internet-no hook-up over the weekend so my prayer is that you had a wonderful service full of loving memories for your Nana. I'll continue to be in prayer for your entire family.
Blessings,
Betsy
You have certainly fallified your home. I have that very same pumpkin tureen. I love it! The wagon filled with pumpkins is lovely. A great way to make friends feel welcome. I am coming over from Vee'g blog. I just fixed her blog. May I suggest you change your background to something more neutral in the middle. The comment section, 25 nice friends is difficult to read.

Hi Kris, I am just now getting back to visiting; I hope that you walked in peace at your Nana's service. I always love seeing your fall decorations-especially all the quilts. Have a good afternoon dear friend.
Hugs, Noreen
Boy oh boy!! Are you ready for Halloween and Fall or not? Love all of your decorations - especially the hand made quilted pieces. Beautiful job!
I am your newest follower.

All the decorations in your house looks so beautiful. The wall hang quilt looks so good.
It looks so festive! I grew up the next town over from Salem, MA and even lived in Salem for a few years. Now we live on a tiny island a few miles away and my boyfriend works in Salem. (we're connected to the mainland by a 2 mile peninsula) Halloween is a big deal in these parts.
Hi Kris, just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

The "back patio" looks so inviting with all the seating for your friends and family.
Kris it all looks wonderful but I so love the wagon with all the kids pumpkins. I will have to try and remember that for next year. So cool.
Darn, I'm obviously way behind on your blog. I'm so sorry about that! I thought I'd have so much more time on my hands with Boyd in school, and yet I somehow don't! I always enjoy seeing glimpses into your home. The pumpkins with the grandkids' names on them are my favorite thing here! Love those. Have a happy day friend.
