Little Bit Of Happy

Hello all.  The first thing I have to say, is thank you...thank you...thank you, for all of your nice words regarding the loss of our dear Nana.   She will be missed so very much.  We are having her funeral this Saturday, with a brief graveside service, and then a celebration of her life at my Mom's house following.
We had a very busy weekend.  Saturday getting new tires for my car.  Then a birthday party for a golfing buddy of Greg's.  We decided to drive up to Big Bear Saturday night and arrived about 10:00 PM .  It was thirty glorious degrees cooler there!  On Sunday we took some friends of ours, who have a cabin nearby, out on the lake for a picnic and some fishing.  Greg barbequed hot dogs, and we had a great time visiting and enjoying the beautiful weather.  We are having another terrible heat wave with triple digits again.  UGH!!!   I don't have too much going on to tell you about right now.  But I do have a few things to show you that are making me happy-happy-happy.
First....it's baaack!!!  My all time favorite for my coffee creamer!!  And my favorite K Cups for an afternoon pick me up!  Normally, I don't sweeten my coffee.  Just 1/2 & 1/2.  But I love this Pumpkin Spice Creamer!
This is another Fall favorite that I stumbled upon last year.  Oh my, are these ever delicious!  Noah is so excited too.  He loves these Pumpkin Spice Waffles!!
Today I picked up a bag of my favorite Fall candy.
Another thing making me happy this week, is some of my chicks that I got in the Spring, have begun to lay.   I have had several little brown  presents in the nest boxes recently.
One day last week, my Mom and I popped into a Goodwill store.  I found this Vera Bradly bag that I could not pass up for obvious reasons!
I have two other Vera Bradly bags, and I love them.
If you are familiar with these quilted bags, you know that they are quite pricey.  I bought this for 7 dollars.  It appeared brand new.  I took it home and washed it in the machine, and hung it on the line to dry.  Then filled her up.  Vera Bradly bags have lots of pockets for organizing your things.  I love them because you can reach in and find something right away.
Definitely a great find!   I am working on my flower squares still.  My stack is getting taller.  I still have to make some more flowers in a few other colors.  Slow going, but getting there.
I will be busy this week, helping with the preparations for Nana's service on Saturday.  I have received so many nice phone calls, messages and cards.  I am overwhelmed.  Nana touched so many.
My Mom has asked me to speak at Nana's funeral.  I am sorting my thoughts, and memories, and working on what I will say.  I hope that can I do her proud.
Have a great week friends!
XO  Kris

Kris, I know you will do Nana proud. You will speak from your heart and share your precious memories, what an honor for you. I'm sure her celebration of life will be full of love, laughter and great joy in having had such a great woman in your lives.
We are kindred spirits with our love of fall flavors, we stocked up on the pumpkin spice creamer and K-cups, this is the only time of year we use creamer! Had to buy several bottles as it disappears from the store shelves, quickly! I found the waffles, yesterday, and brought a few boxes of those home, too! Have you ever mixed peanuts in with your Candy Corn? Delish!!
Love your VB bag, it's perfect for you! Will be thinking of you on Saturday and continue to keep you in my prayers.

My Hubby also really enjoys that coffee creamer. I'll have to look for the k-cups and waffles thou. I don't remember seeing them up here.

Kris, I spoke at my mom's funeral and I was so proud of myself that I didn't crumble. We still kid Dayle as he only got 2 words out before he froze. But I know you'll do great. I'll be thinking of you. I am so jealous of your new egg purse.. I've looked on eBay and Etsy for one! LOL! I'm here for you if you need to talk. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

What an honor to speak at your grandmother's funeral...one of the last things you can do for her in this life. You had such a tender relationship with her and that will allow you to speak from your heart. I'm sure you will do an amazing job.

I too looked for the pumpkin eggos last year with no luck. I hope to find them this fall.

Kris, I too am praying for you and yours as you celebrate Nana's life while still missing her as well. Three women near me have lost their husbands in the last four months, which has stirred up my feelings for the loss of my husband four years ago on August 21. It is so strange still, I find myself with tears for my loss yet able to feel intense joy and gratitude for the love I have known.

Our days have been cooler this week and I just hung up an autumn wreath outside yesterday. I enjoyed seeing your autumn yummies you found :)

And your VB bag is a great find! So glad you have it to enjoy :)
Love with hugs,
Gracie

You have found some nice things to brighten your day. Love your VB purse - you know they are made in my neck of the woods in Indiana. It was sitting there in GW waiting for you! It's funny, my daughter and I went to GW yesterday and she found many pair of jeans that she loved. Is there a difference between the different colored eggs? I know you will say what people need to hear at the service. Will be thinking of you, my friend.

After my husband died I sat down and wrote his eulogy. My oldest read it over and she added a couple of more things. She was the one to read it at the memorial service. Afterward people came up to me and said what a wonderful service it was and how good a job Rachael did to speak about her father. I guess because it was not all tearful, but there was a few things that made people laugh and one thing that made my jaw drop because I wasn't aware of him stealing a smoke long after I had thought he had quit. She was told, "Don't tell your mom." I am sure whatever you said about your Nana will be wonderful, it will come from the heart and be drawn from hundreds of memories that you can all look back on as blessings. It is good to stay busy and I am sure with all of your family gathered round you they will keep you pretty busy. The quiet times you will reflect on your loss and no matter how much we loved someone, God loves them more than we ever could. That is hard to believe especially when your heart is broken. Love you ♥
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
