Brown Paper Packages Tied Up In String

Hidey Do!  I hope I still have a few of you following me.  I have been so bad at blogging regularly.  Partly due to the fact that my computer is having some issues.  And partly because, I don't think I have too much to tell.  And today is no different, but I am posting to say hello, and to let you know that I am here.  I am reading your blogs, and keeping up with all of you, as best I can.
I got some fun mail the other day.  One was a gift from my friend Pammy Sue.  If you crochet, you probably know her blog, Scotty's Place.  I loved the way she had it wrapped up in pretty tissue paper with the blue ribbon tie and stickers on the front.  She calls me Krissy Poo.  Isn't that funny!  My full given name is Kristin.  My Dad named me.  Growing up, I went by Kristy.  The only other person who ever called me Krissy was my hight school diving coach.  I can still hear him say to me, "Stand up straight and suck it in Krissy!"  And I was skinny then!
As I untied the ribbon, and the paper fell away from the gift inside, I could smell this wonderful, clean scent.  And isn't it just so pretty?  Pammy Sue says she does her blocking using Downy Febreeze.
Such intricate and detailed work on these!  I am not sure why, but they scare me.  I would love to try one though.
I love the dusty blue rose in the center!
At first I thought I would put it in my new sewing room, but I have been wanting to add in a bit of blue to our bedroom.  We have just a bit of blue in the comforter.  This doily is the perfect, match, as  you see with it laying on the comforter.
So I put it on our dresser and it looks so pretty in there. I am on the hunt for a couple of pillows with just a bit of blue in them to add to our room.  I love it Pammy Sue!  Thank you!!!  Go visit her blog and see all of the pretty things she makes!
On the same day,. I got another little brown package tied up in string from my friend Noreen over at Life's Blessings.  She is such a wonderful lady.  I have enjoyed her blog, and getting to know her for several years now.  Anyway, she held a drawing for a book she had recently read and reviewed.  I won!
I am eager to read it.  It looks like a good one, full of history, which I love.  Thank you Noreen!!
I started another poncho.
Not working on it as much as I did the last one.   Mostly because I have caught the flu.  Greg started it last week.  He has been really sick.  Everyone at work has it, and he was bound to catch it.  I got a flu shot, but caught it anyway.  Just a lot of laying around for us.  Just watched the awesome Green Bay V Seahawks game.  Wow!!!  Way to go Seattle!!!
My hens are beginning to come alive again with their laying.  What a relief!!!
We are having some really warm days here lately.  In the low 80's.  Yuck!  I want cold, and rain!!!
I took this photo a little while ago.  Can you see the chickens scratching around out there?
There were so many things we needed to get done this weekend.  But we have done nothing.  Hope we are both up and at em' soon.
Watching the Patriots play the Colts  now.  Who will it be?
See you soon.
XO  Kris

That doily is gorgeous! Looks great with the blue in your comforter.

So sorry you guys have been sick. We know SO many folks who have had that flu, hoping to keep it away!!

We watched the Seattle/Green Bay game, too. We have a soft spot for GB, especially Aaron Rodgers. We are also rooting for the Colts and this game isn't looking good, either! Sure wish our Broncos had won, last week!

Hope you feel better, SOON!

Wow! Such nice gifts. Pammy Sue makes some beautiful doilies. I think I've read some books by that author. If it's the same lady, I think you'll really enjoy it. I'm so sorry you and Greg have the flu. It's really nasty this year. I've had it twice in the past 7 years which doesn't sound like a lot, but each year I get that flu shot faithfully and I still get sick. Not fun. I'll be praying that you'll both be up and about soon. We have the cold weather for you. Another 5 inches or so of snow fell on Friday. It did warm up some today and melt off a bit. Go Hawks! I can tell you that in this Washington household there was some nail biting going on. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

Good morning Kris- hope you are feeling better! We've all had a touch of this and that the past few weeks and it sure zaps my energy/motivation level. I am just wishing for spring....I have a feeling it's going to be a long winter for me! It's hard for me to imagine you guys are in the 80's...so jealous!! So kind of your friend to make you that beautiful doily! I love getting and sending fun mail...not many people do that anymore.
Have a great week!

Aren't friends the best?
I like having friends that do other things than I do....it makes for nice variety.

The doily is pretty and would look nice surrounded with some pretty silver antique frames :)

Have a great week!

First of all the Packer/Seattle game stunk. We have some very depressed Packer fans here at my house. I love your gifts, Pammy Sue is the best and I love her pet name for you, Wish that your comments appeared on my email like they used to, now I can't comment back to you and it stinks.
Hugs to you and I sure hope you feel better.

Came by here to catch up with reading on the blog!
Now YOU'RE SICK?! and you had the shot... :/ I'm sorry for you! Hope y'all get well soon.
The poncho is going to look great. I liked the other!
The gifts in the mail are a treat... and the girls laying is nice. Ours aren't laying. We've got one hen that lays right now--the others are being pretty persnicketty!
You should try one of those doilies... I don't know if my eyes could take it now days... and come to think of it, the last time I made one so intricate and small, I LOST ALL MY NEEDLES and the second doily I was making. Vanished!
We turned this house upside down-- and haven't a clue what happened to it-- the doily, the thread, the needle pouch! Crazy!
Funny what you remember when your blogging...and chatting...
take care!

I LOVE the blues in the gorgeous doily. My favourite colour is blue. I have been thinking about having a go at crocheting some blue doily's for my home. It wont be as fancy as that one though, I am not that clever...yet.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell Kris, hope you recover real soon.

I'm off to have a look at those blogs now, I bet I am in for a treat.

Hi Kris, sorry about that old yukky flu bug getting you down. Enjoyed reading and seeing the pix today. I hope you soon are all better and can enjoy all your crafties. I am jealous of your warm weather as we are having winter in the midwest a bit colder than you. Take care and be well.

What a lovely gift, Kris. It bought back a few nice memories of my grandmother's house where she had doilies under everything. Love the colors in the poncho you are making. That would brighten an overcast winter day for sure.

Hi Kris! Thank you for stopping by...and I don't know, I want to think that they did not notice all of the scratches...but ya never know.

Hope you and your husband are feeling better. The flu is no fun at all and such a waste of good time.

Such lovely gifts you received! I am in awe of those who can crochet. Your comforter is gorgeous, too.

big hugs...

Hi Kris! Nice gifts from friends. It is always fun to open packages with such nice surprises in them. I see your hens are giving you some gifts too, yummy fresh eggs. I need to back track on all these blogs for the last 2 months while I was laying low and catch up, but for now I am just popping in and making an appearance. I posted today for the first time in over 2 months. I have missed you.
Susanne :)
