Knit One, Purl Two???

Well, I love creative outlets. I love to quilt, and cook, and do cakes, and redecorate, and all of that sort of thing. When my friend Donna mentioned that she wanted to learn to crochet so she could make a blanket for her soon to arrive grandson, I suggested she visit Torey at Knit Affair. She is nearly done, just a few short weeks later, with a beautiful blanket. AND, she talked me and few others into joining her at Knit Affair. So, despite my reluctance to join in, I am learning to knit! I already know a little about crochet, but I was up for the challenge, and before I knew it, I had a pair of bamboo knitting needles in my hand, and was dreaming of a "quilt like" knitted throw for the winter. But....turns out I am only meant for knitting 101, and the most basic of basic when it comes to patterns. And so, the knit two, purl two scarf has begun. I was warned in class yesterday to NOT SPEAK, and concentrate on my knitting. And so, in a quiet room, alone with my needles and yarn, I knit...two, purl two, and perhaps in a few months, hopefully before the chill of winter has left, I shall have a scarf!!!

Once you get it down, you have to teach me. I have wanted to learn to knit for a long time but am having trouble finding someone who knows how to do it. Good luck with that.

Oh my gosh Lauri, I don't think I will ever be qualified to teach someone else how to do this! I am a dork when it comes to knitting!

Kris, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon, and when you do, you should knit some booties for the soon to be newest member of your family!! I bet Genn would love them!
