In a few minutes it will be March 29th, and also, my birthday. No big plans, just an early dinner with family at Anchos, and breakfast in the morning with my birthday partner. Today is my friend Jae's birthday, and in years past, we would always celebrate her birthday by doing something fun together, and then also the next day, another celebration for mine. But with lots of changes in our lives lately, we have narrowed it down to one celebration for both days. In years past, we would get up early, start with breakfast out, then spend an entire day doing something fun. Sometimes we would go skiing up in our local mountains. We have also spent the day hitting our favorite quilt shops. Several years on our birthdays, we would spend the day at Glen Ivy, where we would have massages, pedi's and a leisurely day floating in the pools until the spa closed, where we would part ways and each go home to again celebrate our birthdays with our families. We have had a lot of fun sharing our almost mutual birthdays. Tomorrow morning I will be picking her up and off we will go for breakfast and then who knows? And when my boys get home from camping, the family will gather and we will celebrate some more. Tonight I made my birthday cake. It is a double layer 6 inch cutie. Champagne flavored yellow cake with fresh strawberry whip filling and iced in buttercream. Topped with simple Gerbera Daisies from my own garden.
Happy Birthday to Jae and Kris. I hope we have many, many more!!!!
Don't you love that wire cake stand? I seem to have a thing for cake stands. I am running out of places to store them too!!! It's not like they stack nice and flat in a cupboard. But I just can't help myself from buying them.
