What a day!

No pictures to accompany this post. Just a note about the day we had. Started at 6:15 a.m., with Noah arriving and he was not his usual happy self. He was whiney, and cranky, and crying, and acted as if something hurt. Within just a few minutes it was apparent that something did hurt. It seemed to be his arm. His left arm to be exact. I called Erika and told her and she came straight home, citing that he did in fact seem to be favoring his arm for her yesterday. So, she got here, and went straight to the doctor. I took a quick shower, and met her there. Just in time for torturous Xrays by a jerk of a technician, who claimed that if he could fight like that, there wasn't anything wrong with him. But there was. The doctor came in a few minutes later and said his shoulder was dislocated! So....then he talks to the ortho surgeon, and refers us to the hospital where we were to meet with him and determine how they wanted to fix it. Either way, he would have to be sedated. Suffice it to say, it was a LONG and not so fun day for all, especially Noah. Jeremy was there with Erika to offer his moral support, and they were told that since he had some food and drink, he would have to wait several hours for any sedation. For some reason, they did not take the next set of Xrays until late today, after we had been there for 8 hours or so. They were thinking that maybe he had put it back into place on his own, since it wasn't hanging limp by his side anymore. Thank goodness, he had! No sedation, no surgery. Dropped Erika and Noah off at home, only to discover we had left his favorite nite-nite nighty blankie at doctors office and his Neiman Marcus Nite-Nite at the hospital!!! Then, not 20 minutes after she was home, Jeremy called...he broke down on freeway and needed to be picked up!!! What a day!

What a bummer. Poor Noah. I wonder how he did that? Unfortunately after dislocating a shoulder, its much easier to do it agin, and again. I don't know if it loosens up but I have clients who it happens to frequently.

Days like that are so exhausting. I guess it helps you appreciate the good days. I'm glad Noah got out of that one with no surgery. Small kids and surgery is so sad.

Poor Noah, I'm glad he put it back into place himself Poor Erika too, that would be just as hard on the Mama.

I'm so glad that he is okay now. What an awful day. I felt so bad for Noah (and you and Erika too).
