More Big Bear Lake

There is a place in the pines, about an hour from where we live, that we love to visit. Our family had a cabin up there for many years. We had so many great times there. That cabin was sold about 6 years ago, and last year, my Mom bought another cabin up there, only a stone's throw from the other one. Unfortunately, she is recovering from an accident and hasn't been able to go up. I hope she can go soon.

This first picture is a rustic cabin in the woods, that sat out in the middle of the pines, isolated a bit from the other cabins. We fished for a long time out in front of this place, and I watched and listened as they bbq'd on their deck, and then as the sun was setting, the cabin twinkled in the distance as the lights came on, one by one, and the cabin dwellers settled in for the night. Oh if only I could paint!

The fish were jumping in this bay, all around us. But none would jump on our hook this night! I didn't care. It was a gorgeous evening, and watching the sun slip behind the mountain, and cabins light up in the distance, was entertainment enough for me.

This grand white house, with the sprawling lawn, and American flag flying, has been my favorite home on the lake for years. I seldom see anyone there, but it is so meticulously maintained, that surely some family must enjoy it often. It is my dream house.

However, it is this one below, that sits in the midst of this forest, with the dilapidated roof, and crushed sides that I could more realistically afford. Can you see it? The one in the middle that looks like a pup tent???
The fishing was grand.......

The sun twinkled on the water, just before it slipped out of sight.

The canoes and kayaks were hurrying in to shore.

And the sky put on a show for free once again!
We made Ron and Sue do ALL the cooking!

Here comes Sue with her splatter screen for the bacon.

We supervised to make sure Ron was doing it right! Poor Ron had to sit down to cook with his back so bad. Just a few more days Ron, and you will be fixed up good as new!

Here's Maryrose (AKA Two-Names) showing off the sign in Ron and Sue's camp.

And for dessert, we had a perfectly orchestrated production line of S'More's going! Maryrose put the marshmallows on the fork, Kevin toasted them to a perfect golden brown.
Sue put the chocolate on the graham crackers.....

And The Big Kahuna ate them.....Mmmmmmmmm Goooooood!!!
Til we meet up again in The Pines......
Thanks for a great weekend!

Kris, thank you so much... the pictures were fantastic. Kevin and I had such a great time. I will put a post together of some of the pictures I took. I loaded them this morning and had fun all over again looking at them.
Wasn't that an amazing night fishing on the lake with the sun setting? You really captured it. Lets pool our money and see if we can buy that trashed cabin.... we can rebuild ... the spot is ideal.
Thanks for including us.
Love Kevin and Maryrose
