My Mom

As many of you know, my Mom had a serious accident back in the beginning of the summer. She has had a really hard time since then. She has spent the last 4 months in casts, surgeries, and in PAIN, going from wheelchair to walker, to cane, and now, walking with a boot cast on. She is just now FINALLY regaining some of her freedom. This time for her has been the most difficult thing she has ever had to do, and the hardest part about it, being alone. She lost her best friend and husband, my Dad, 6 years ago. Watching her go through this, without him has been so hard. But I am happy to say, she is doing SO much better now. We were over there the other night, and she cooked dinner!! It was fun just seeing her in her kitchen, going back and forth, and doing what I know she has always loved to do. Cooking.....something that simple. But more importantly, seeing her smile.
Oh, and something else big is about to happen for her..................drum roll........................................
She.........Is........Going................On......................A.......................Blind.........................Date!!!!!!!!
Shriek!!!!!!!! I am SO excited for her! I asked if I could casually be in the area, perhaps.....shopping, or something like that, and just sort of show up.......see how things are going............I think I might just do that. My how the tables turn. I can well imagine that she wanted to do the very same thing when her kids started dating.....just sort of casually be around to make sure things were going okay. Now....I want to do the same thing to her, to look out for her, protect her....just in case he turns out to be more dud than stud. But I won't. And I know it will go well for her. I will keep you posted. But until then....YOU GO MAMA!!!!!!

You tell your mama that I am rooting for her blind date and how great that she is feeling better and cooking again. You can tell how happy you are by your writing and remember to tell your mama " You Go Girl" and if he likes it he "Should a put a ring on it" ha ha ha
