HARVEST

Yesterday my lil' dumplins were all here.  I gave them each a bucket and we went out to the grove for some harvesting.
Little Claire was in on the action too.  As Greg says, she is no shrinking violet!  She gets right on in there with the bigger kids.
Hannah and Noah had a ball picking fruit.  They loaded up their buckets and emptied them into a larger pail, and kept on filling theirs  up!  Claire picked hers up from the ground!  Much easier.
I think in this picture above, Hannah is deciding which orange weighs more.  They were so darn cute to watch out there!!
"Gamma....can I pick some of these too?"  I set Hannah on a low branch on one of the avocado trees.   Then Claire Bear joined her.  I wish I could have gotten the three of them on that branch.  Next time maybe.
Giddy UP!
After harvesting, they ran their little hearts out on the sport court.  We haven't been out there all winter, and it is a mess!!  With this rain the weeds are taking over, and as soon as we have a dry weekend, we can spray them down.  The court needs a good sweeping and I think today Greg and I are going to go out and play some paddle tennis.  The kids played basketball, and ran around in circles forever and wore themselves out good!  It was hysterical!!!
I think we may have a couple of future "ballers" here.  Hannah is going to have the height for sure, and Noah seems to have the hands for it!  Claire too.....she kept up!!
Gennifer took home two tired and dirty little girls, and forgot her oranges and avocados, and Noah came in for a nice long nap!  Gamma even got to sit down and rest a bit with a freshly blended Orange Bang made with the oranges the kids picked.  I forgot to take a pic.  Next time.  In about another week, the orange blossoms will be opening and the sweet orange blossom fragrance will be slipping in under our noses telling us Spring is about to show her fair face again.  But today, rain clouds are threatening, and we will have to wait.

Hi Kris! You have adorable grandchildren! I sent you an email after you left your comment, about our sons...I looked around your blog and couldn't find a link to your son's music and I asked where I could listen, I would love to here his stuff. Thanks for the nice comment about Daniels stuff :) And yes he does all his own writing.

Oh too cute. Love that the kiddos harvested fruit. Riley picked a few avocados yesterday, but mostly just rode around in the wheel barrow. It was a beautiful day to be outside....looks like everyone enjoyed it.

OMG, I'm so jealous! Jealous of what the girl took home AND that you get to enjoy that sweet smell in your own backyard! We have orange trees around us and I LOVE driving by them when it starts to get warm and the smell just fills the car...okay I sound so cheesy but it's true!
Those kiddos must LOVE Camp Runamuk!!!
