Spring Is Springing

I found this bird fabric on clearance and bought several panels that I had no idea what I would do with.  With one set of panels I made a floor mat.  I made the borders out of a heavy weight outdoor fabric, and backed it with the same.  Put a thick batt in between and ran a decorative stitch along the seams and borders and then bound it with a sunny golden yellow fabric.
The green is ribbed and has a gripping action to it so it sticks to the floor.
I got these three white birds last week.  I love the detail on them.

Our Wheatie has very bad skin allergies and had to go get a shot last night for them.  He has been in his favorite spot all morning.

This "quilt it as you go" carrot runner I did last year or the year before.  It was a quick and easy technique.  I might make up a couple Easter Eggs using the same technique.  That chocolate bunny was purchased last year at Home Goods.  Not really chocolate of course.
The  green candles and silver bunny holders are from my sister in law Monica.  They were a birthday gift a couple years ago.  Pottery Barn.  So cute.
 Happy Almost Spring.........

Hi Kris, nice to see you are sewing again. You really have done some great projects. Love your little birdies too, where did you find them?
Just wondering when that carrot runner is going to be a giveaway? Just asking ;)

What? Do I smell giveaway? I think that's a great idea ;)

Love those little birds, they are so pretty! I like how you can go and just pick out pretty fabric before you know what you are going to do with it. I think it's awesome, and then you create something fabulous like your new mat! Love it!

Haha, you freaked me out in a good way. In a way that I do need to appreciate every moment and not wish for the next time, or when my kids can do this or that. You were very right :)

What pretty touches of spring you have! We had a few days over 50 but today was a raw, rainy dreary day so it was nice to see something pretty!
