I Love These Babies!!!!!

We had a nice weekend.  Last night we had dinner with 3 other couples that are dear friends of ours.  I forgot my camera, so I don't have any photos of the evening.  But it was beautiful.  Our friends, Kevin and Maryrose hosted a birthday extravaganza to celebrate 4 birthdays in the group.  Kevin, Jae, Marc and myself.  They had a Hawaiian themed dinner that was to die for.  Appetizers outside by the pool, sushi, and cosmos......on a breezy but beautiful evening.  We all wore Hawaiian style clothes, to add to the festive atmosphere.  The table was beautiful, complete with shells, and coral, and tiki man paper lanterns.  Grilled salmon on a bed of greens, flank steak, and baked shells, were wonderful.  For dessert a Hawaiian themed cake, with surfboard on top.  Chocolate ganache , rich and delicious!  What a fun evening. Thank you to our hosts, Kevin and Maryrose.
Today, after a trip to Home Depot, we spent the day doing chores and gardening.  It was a gorgeous day today, warm and sunny, perfect to be outdoors.  I planted impatiens, and gerbera daisies, and tore out all of the stuff that the fumigation burned.  Later in the afternoon, we got a visit from our three favorite people in the world.  Our grandbabies.
Hannah, Noah and Claire were playing a little kickety kick ball.   Do you think I have been watching too much Wow Wow Wubzy?
Hannah and Noah.
Claire looked like she was on a mission here.   What a great way to end a busy day!  Tomorrow is a very BIG day for me.  I.....turn......GULP.......50!!!!!   How is this possible?  Weren't OUR children just babies?  Wasn't it yesterday that our weekends were filled with sporting events....often times for all three kids???    Just a couple months ago that I was bandaging skinned knees, and dreaming of easier days?  Wasn't it just last week that our backyard was filled with teenagers in the pool?  Proms, open house, back to school nights?   Where did it go?  Our oldest is  almost 29.   Our middle is almost 27.  Our baby is 21.  HOW did it happen?  I still feel 21 myself.  But that lady looking back at me in the mirror is not the one I remember, just a few years ago it would seem.  But....I am happy and healthy, and have a beautiful family to share this life.  But...........FIFTY.......REALLY???????   WOW!!!

Oh Kris HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! 50 is nothing....I am 5 years ahead of you on the road and I am telling ya it's not bad at all, haha....I do identify with where in the world did the time go though. It is funny to see your own kids living the life that it seemed you were just on...It sounds like you had a wonderful week-end. One of Maryrose's dinner parties I am sure was lots of fun. And days with those sweet little grandbabies just can't be beat. ENJOY your day Kris. In fact ENJOY your whole birthday week. I am sure the celebrations will be spread out to include that. And welcome to the 50's!! Dive right in, the water's perfect...Hugs to you today and always, Debbie

Happy Birthday Kris, yes, yes, yes to all of those things. It "was" only yesterday but there is life after 50 ;) It hurts a bit more and is harder to get around in but it holds more of what we have always loved, family and friends.
I have written you a little HB poem, so check it out today. Have a great day with the fam.
Love
