Out With The Old......

Windows....that is.  In with the new.
So pretty......
Now if the weather will hold, we will be getting our new roof next week!  What a difference these things make on our 35 year old home!  My poor plants!  The extermination really burned them. The two azaleas on the left have not sprung back yet.  Hope they do.  They should all be in bloom right now.
Now we need to decide what colors to paint the house.  I am leaning towards black shutters.  Not sure yet.  Then again, I have always wanted a brick red front door, so that is an option. I just know I don't want to keep it the same!
While the windows were going in, we had to stay here and it was hard keeping Noah busy. I drug this box in from the garage, and set him up with crayons to decorate it.  This kept him busy for two days.  One for coloring it, and one whole day playing with it.  Hiding in it, racing cars in it.  I am on the lookout for an applicance size box to build a fort with.  I can remember doing that when I was a kid.
I made my first little project with wool.  Used the cream from that wool coat I got a while back.  Needed a cupcake to put in middle, but didn't have one.  I have a love/hate relationship with cake.
This little cutie came to visit for a few minutes this morning with her Mommy after dropping sissy off at school.
Lastly, in every planter, both in front and back, my purple irises are exploding!!  Everything is in full bloom, but the tall purple irises are standing tall and proud everywhere I look. They are called grape irises, and they smell exactly like a grape sucker!
This planter is filled with poppies, and irises.  The color is so nice.
Below are roses that I dug out of my Mom and Dad's yard when Mom sold the house shortly after my Dad passed away. He planted these roses only a few months before he got sick.  My Mom and I bring them with us when we go to chat with him at the cemetary.  These are beautiful roses, in vibrant yellow and red.
There is a gohper doing some serious damage right next to this planter.  I am on gopher watch!!! GRRRRR!!!
That's it from here, where we are one day closer to the weekend!!!!   Yippeeeee!!

Hi there, Congrat's on the new windows-they are very pretty and it will be fun to see the new look with paint. Love the grands-so very cute!
My mom loved Iris's and my dad always planted them for her each year-so whenever I see them I think of both mom and dad. Thanks for sharing-have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Noreen

Love your post, Kris. Black shutters and a red front door are a dynamite combination with brick. Your home is looking great. Oh how I envy your new windows. I need them too and am dragging my feet.

LOVE the new windows! How exciting! There is nothing like a cardboard box for tons of fun. When we were kids our parents got a new combination console TV and stereo that came in an enormous box. We had a ball with that thing out in the garage! Your flowers are gorgeous. The iris are simply stunning.

The new windows look so pretty. My kids would much rather play with and decorate a big box than most of their toys.
