Yes, I am a Cowlifornia girl, born and raised. But it even gets cold here too. Those of you digging out in Colorado and on the East Coast are laughing right now. But it is true. We get cold. Have you noticed how Cowls are HOT? Everything old becomes new again. When I was in high school, way back in the 70's, Cowl Necks were so popular. I loved them because it was loose around the neck. I am sort of claustrophobic and I can't stand anything tight around my neck. I love these knitted and crochet cowls I am seeing everywhere. I made mine using a pattern on the back of this yummy thick tweed yarn. But I adapted it to the length I wanted it to be. It is done in the round. I didn't want it tight, and I didn't want to make my first one long enough for a double twist, just in case I didn't like it. I started this the other night, and foolishly only bought one skein. I had to run back to get another. It takes a little under two. I plan on making a chunky flower to go on it. But for now, here it is.
I pinned a black ribbed knit Bloomie to the front. It is soft, warm and cozy. Should I Etsy it?

Work it girl SNAP! Love the cowl neck too!
OH yes, put these on etsy! Too cute! Absolutely love your hair...what a great pic! Charming apron and packaging in the last post, too!
With my non-existent neck, I like cowls so much better than turtlenecks! What a neat idea! And your hair sooooooo cute!! Looks wonderful on you !!
Love it! It looks so cozy and pretty, the bloomie is a perfect addtion.
Ooooooh! I LOVE it!! IT is so pretty. I love that color you chose too. You should keep it and make more and etsy those. Love it!
Absolutely!!!
I say keep it also. But I am a little bit of a hoarder! Beautiful work and great hair also.
Beautiful job! I would keep it, but that's just my inability to make yarn work for me that's talking ;)
I just love that and of course you should Etsy it! I can't breathe in a turtle neck either so this would be perfect! You hair is just too cute too.
I love it! Cowls are hot!
I remember cowls! I liked them then and I'd like them now--it really is cold here and I can see even pulling one up over my ears at times.
I also remember the California chill--even in La Jolla. I had to turn the heat on one October for a few days when we brought our new baby home!! = )
Do you have an Etsy shop?
Best,
Bonnie
THESE are just perfect for my mom!! Maybe Mel too...DEFINITELY Etsy them... = ) TOO cute!
Thanks for you sweet comment!! So glad you decided to open shop! I'll be making a purchase soon.
Loving the teal one!!
Cute Mom! I agree make more on Etsy! Did you make an appointment for Saturday? I'm excited, hope you are too! Maybe Genny can come...she probably works.
SO cute! Etsy them for sure!
Just checked out your Etsy page, you should crop this photo and use it as your profile picture! You are so cute and you are wearing your product!
Hee, hee, I still have a cowl (fine, flat-knit) sweater top from 1978! I pulled it out a couple weeks ago and wore it. Day before yesterday, I wore a sweater I hadn't worn in quite awhile, a mock turtleneck and it irritated my neck all day. Why does everything including our necks, have to fall? Damn!... I'm for those cowl neck sweaters and yours is too cute! If it doesn't take too long to make each one then I'd day go-etsy 'em!
Good luck with the Etsy. I put a link to it on my blog. So fun, I love it.
You are too cute! Yes, I love the cowl (and just where are all mine from the past??!!) but your hair is the cutest:)
Hi Kris, thanks for the bloomie Erika just brought it by my house! I already blogged about it, and linked you on! I will be purchasing more in the near future! THANKS!!
