Mid Week Happenings

Yesterday I spent the day at Glen Ivy with my friend Jae.  We just so happened to go on two for one day.  And we also ran into two of our friends there.  We had a great day!!!  But this is the only photo I took.  Just before I left the house.
See my Ducey Doggin' over there under the table?
Today, I set out to visit some of my favorite vintage and thrift shops.  First stop, the vintage/antique shop near me, I spotted this pile of crochet and knitting books.  Got almost all of them, for 5 dollars.
Next stop, sign read,  "half off all yellow stickers"  Found this.  With a yellow sticker.  SOLD!  15 dollars!  It will be going into this guest bathroom, after I remove the old stock mirror and paint.  I just have it resting there.  I will be painting the frame too.
This mirror is so heavy, I could barely lift it up there to the counter.  I love the curves to it!  Can't wait to hang it.
There is Ducey getting into another picture!   Sitting here on the floor in my son's room, can you tell how big it is?  I can't believe this find!

One of the things I look for in the thrift shops is 100% wool clothing items.  Wool is so great to work with,
but it is pricey in the quilt shops!!!  I am always on the lookout for100% wool clothing that I take apart, and felt myself by washing in very hot water.  I was hoping to find something red with Valentine's coming up.
On my third stop, all clothing items were 1.00!!!  Bingo.

At this third stop, they had all furniture half off.  Had I not found that great table a few weeks ago, I would have brought home a most perfect desk!!!  It was one of those huge old solid oak desks, with file cabinet drawers, and dividers and trays in each drawer as well.  The top surface was HUGE and would have been a a great desk for a sewing or crafting room.  20 dollars!  I hated to not buy it, but I just didn't have a place for it.  Darn!
I stocked up on fabrics for Bloomies the other day.
This morning I worked on more flowers.  This is an Attic 24 pattern.  I had bookmarked these a long time ago, and forgot about them until I read Clara's post yesterday on the pretty flowers she put on her most recent afghan.  This is my favorite pattern that I have tried so far for flowers.
I started another infinity scarf in a pretty charcoal color.  I hope they have more of the color I need because I need one more skein!  I bought two charcoals, but one is slightly different.  Oopsie.
Tomorrow I am getting up bright and early to pick up my friend Jae.  We are going out to breakfast, and then to Road To California Quilt Show.  It is opening day, so it will be crazy packed.   But FUN!   We are meeting some friends there at the California Pizza Kitchen for lunch.  Can't wait to see all of those beautiful quilts.  And the fabric!!!  I went last year with my sister in law's sister, Joni.  She flew down from the bay area to go.  And my sweet sister in law, Glenda came here to my house to babysit my grandson Noah so that I could go.  I wasn't planning to go this year, but it just so happened to fall on the same week that my daughter Erika was taking off, so I get to go.
Half way through the week already!  Where does time go?
I am watching American Idol, and I like the new judges.  J Lo is darling, and she is nice too.  Stephen Tyler also seems like a nice guy.  He is the prettiest man I have ever seen!  Wonder how much work he has had done?
Th...th..th...tha....That's All Folks!

Those flowers are so freaking cute! I just love the colors. Why didn't you just pick up that big ol desk for $20? You could have dropped it off over here! Have fun at the quilt show and get the margarita pizza at Calif pizza kitchen.

I wondered why there were so many comments already! Hee-hee. Somebody is jacked up on caffeine or had a computer malfunction. I'm not sure which.

LOVE the mirror, and $15 is unbelievable. I really liked the picture you took of it on the floor with your doggie in motion. I love him. Is he a poodle-lab mix or something like that? He's too cute.
