Bass Lake Continued

Okay, let's wrap up our vacation today.  Thursday rolled around, and Erika and Noah and Gennifer headed for home.  I'm not sure, but I think I saw the girls clicking their heels in sheer joy at the thought of going  home to a nice clean bed and warm shower with no time limits.  Only the hardy remained to finish the week in paradise.
A few random photos to end the story.  Beginning with our sweet Diana.  Diana is our son Drew's girlfriend.  She is a teeny tiny little thing.  She has been in our lives for a couple of years, and we never knew how much she loved to eat!!  I mean LOVES it.  She can pound a burger and fries with the best of them.  And milkshakes.....don't even try to cross her when she is slurping down one of these!!!  We were all sitting at The Forks for lunch one day, and suddenly heard that familiar sound you hear when one has reached the end of their glass with their straw and only the very last few drops remain, and you are bound and determined to get them!!!  SLURP!!!!!   Meet Diana.
She never even came up for air.  5.2 seconds later.  A happy girl!!!
Note the empty glass, and smile on face  Man I love this girl!!!
On Friday, we took a drive around the lake and got out at The Falls to show the girls.  As kids, we used to have such a blast sliding down the falls into the lake.  The water level is very low this year and not too many were braving the drop.
We walked back up into the woods a little bit to show the girls.   I remember going up there to pick blackberries when I was young.  They were so good!
In our  youth, we used to hike back up in there for miles!  There are deep pools of water, and miles and miles of waterfalls.  It is just gorgeous.  I had Jake and the girls sit on this log for a picture.
We got back to camp, and began to take everything down, and pack it away.  Pull boats out of the water, and prepare for our evening departure.
I was ready to come home.  It as a fun week.  But it was a hard week.  And it was a hot week!  I was ready to go home and brush my teeth with running water again.
Goodbye Millers.

Goodbye Forks.
Goodbye lake.
I will miss you so!!!!

So glad that I got to see your vacation. What a fun time. Are you finished with the laundry yet? Have you gotten all the dirt out of your ears? I just know I would love Diana too!

Hubby and I were just saying how camping for a weekend it just perfect. Not too long out of a good bed and in the dirt but long enough to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors. Okay your grandgirls are the cleanest campers I have ever seen. My kids when little were always and Quinn is all covered in dirt when we camp.

Time limit showers might just be my least favorite thing in the whole world. That and cooked cabbage :)

I'm just catching up too and I haven't been anywhere--except to meetings, meetings, meetings! What a gorgeous place you were in. My husband and I were there years ago and stayed a few days at a wonderful lodge.

And now a word on the lovely young lady: It simply isn't fair to look thin and beautiful before, during and after slurping down a milk shake. If I did that, I'd have to first put on elastic waist pants!!

Best,
Bonnie
